hello everyone!

last time we entered the 300s. now, we're already entering the 400s! time flies, doesn't it?

i'm tired of having these progress updates derail into useless things that don't pertain to the episode, so i have decided this one is going to be chock full of useful information for you to shove into the board-shaped hole in your cranium, that is, your brain.

this episode is going to be LONG. usually i try to downplay episodes by calling them "running-duos-length" episodes at first, but no. i think this one might be the longest episode of all time! hopefully. this might reverse jinx it, like every single other episode i've tried to estimate the length of.

i suppose you could make a graph with # of panels per episode over time. the graph steadily increases until board boards 6, where it skyrockets, dips back down until board boards 8, then afterwards it leaps up again, then goes a little higher in 10. but then again, that is all just an estimate.

writing-wise, this last month has been a slog... i've spent basically 2 full boards just setting up this next part of the episode. not to say that it's a boring, drawn out snoozefest, but there's a lot of things that need to occur for this part of the episode.

what happens in this episode? here, let me tell you while also being intentionally vague as not to spoil it!

some RCs get a spotlight with lines! one of them is a character from another series, who was recommended by a creator of the show.

it contains a panel that i consider to be the magnum opus of board boards and have been waiting to draw it since the first episode.

the title is similar to episode eight, but i won't say in what way.

okay i think that's everything i wanted to say... i hope this episode lives up to the expectations which are certainly high.

... yeah, that pretty much sums up how much i have to talk about with this progress update... i've been rather busy lately with non-board boards things, but i'll really try to ramp up production in this upcoming fortnight!

since it's been so long, how about i playfully hint about some things that happen in the episode except the hints are useless and don't actually reveal anything? here we go.

back in my teens i used to be real into heavy metal music. i'd blast that stuff every single hour of every single day! my doctor had to ask me to stop, though. not only did it seriously damage my hearing and worsen my blood pressure, but it was also annoying the patients in the other room. needless to say, i listen to a different kind of metal now.
