Day 3 of making my own website- Still Learning

I'm not gonna stress myself about not working on website stuff over the weekend, if I stress myself then it'll never get done. However I do have a limit of "break days" so I don't just lay about for weeks at a time. 2 Days is the Max.

Anyway I just did more coding lessons and oh boy...been doing it wrong, it has a "try it yourself" thingy and I don't really do anything, just change what's already there.

Big oof.

I tried copying what the tutorial video at the end of the lesson did - well one of the things, and I am still confused. I don't know how long it'll take me to get out of this stressed more than learning phase, I'm hoping it'll pass and I'll be a more active participent. I'm trying to be, I really want to make my own website.

Day 2 - LEARNING

CSS = Cascading Style Sheets

I'm learning now...easy first lessons but it feels like I should be taking notes, this is giving the same vibe as when I was working to get my GED. Written lesson + Video + Quiz.

Hopefully these lessons have everything the tests will need unlike the GED TESTS! I had to search for other study materials when getting my GED because their lessons didn't have everything you needed to actually know to pass. >:(

Stopped live "journaling" after getting stuck. Reason for being stuck? The thing I was lost on is covered in the next lesson. Ugh, selectors need to be reviewed BEFORE the declarations and stuff.

Anyway I'm calling it. I'm both bored and confused, but I think I can do this. It doesn't seem too complicated, considering it's just "type command, thing happen" but you are learning how to word the command. My mind is just being pulled every which way so it is making the lessons a little tricky.

I'm going to keep going, but I'd say this was a productive session. I've decided 30 minutes minimum is what I put aside for this website project a day since that was easy for me to do when I did 100 Days of Comics.

Day 1 - INSPIRATION

I want to actually make a website and I am DETERMINED to do it, but I am an overthinker so I'm gonna have easy starter days. Also I doon't know what I'm doing so the beginning is gonna have to be easy.

Anyway I decided I'd use was NekoWeb and OMG you can have little moving site thumbnails, that's so cute...screenshot does not do justice. I for sure want to try that at some point though.

Oh good I found someone that has a ton of space backgrounds, that's what I want, I like how this person changed the color theme and space background depending on page. Fascinating...

I personally want a more detailed central area of a page than this but not sure if I'd go scifi or fantasy....though I need to be realistic of what I can do so I know for sure I'll be starting very simple as well.

...guess I also need to figure out what I WANT from my site, like what I want to do. Hm.

I am an artist, I have multiple story worlds, but I also just want to share what's on my mind, but I am enjoying the little flash games people add to theirs...that'd be fun, but I need to find games I enjoy to add to mine too.

I'm watching videos about how social media sucks and how said person is going to make their own website...I've been wanting to do the same thing but like most stuff in life- the invisible block in my mind keeps me from doing it. Someone has already given me a free website to learn coding and two different sites perfect for making my own website

Nekoweb and Neocities

I'm leaning toward Nekoweb because they said they keep AI from sweeping their sites...also freaking love their homepage and their overall vibe.

I think I fear failure? But all I do is fail online, literally a nobody everywhere I post...so it doesn't make sense. Only thing that gets any attention from is my comic that I lowkey want to quit...only lowkey, I'm finding SOME fun again, but it is a slow journey.

I love the idea of unique personal sites, I just dunno...I am scared to do it, but in the past I wasn't so scared to do stuff. Like I ran a flippin' blogspot blog about how I beleive Slenderman exists! (that was a fun time because my seizures also made me hallucinate Masky stalking me...can laugh about it now though). Like..what is stopping me?!

I like my art where it is. I feel I have some half decent thoughts.

But there is this invisible wall keeping me here, yearning. Does anybody else relate to this feeling? And if so, any advice to get past it?

I'm re-watching Fionna and Cake again and I gott say...the nightmare from season 1 still is stuck in my head. Even more now that I'm in season 2.

They are "normal" but the fact their city is so closed off from the rest of the world makes me think now that they have been canonized that there is actual magical dangers lurking. Like...what if another mushroom war is going to threaten to happen?

Is there a crown in their world now that they have an entire world outside their city?

WHAT DO THOSE SYMBOLS MEAN?

Could they have been trapped by magical beings like zoo animals and now they have finally unknowingly broke down the barrier?

Yeah yeah, Hunson is gonna be a thing, but that is my point! If a DEMON is making his appearence, what other supernatural and magical beasties are there. I think Fionna is going to find her adventure outside that city and I am so curious how it'll go.
