THE DEFENDER

traits: loyal, selfless, guardian, youthful, honest, unguarded, courageous, basically a gryffindor

the defender is most commonly used to symbolize the motivator, or the helping hand of the chosen one/the main protagonist. they would give their life for what the believe in, and is invested in every relationship they build. friendship means everything to them, no matter how insignificant their interactions were. they are selfless, and caring, and try their best but they can also be ignorant, and insensitive. they will always mean it when they apologize, even if they need to be reminded in doing so, and they love so openly and fiercely, it's heartbreaking. they are often left behind in social situations, but they are the ones that try to include everyone.

   If she herself was a STRANGE SIGHT, then this BRO wasn’t exactly someone you would pass a mere single glance at, “… ah gotta say, them are some NIFTY glasses ye got on, bro.”

     ❝ o-oh, well— ❞ her compliment throws him off guard as a hand rises to adjust the glasses in question, lips twisting into a prideful grin. ❝ thank you. they can’t exactly do what they’re supposed to anymore, but they were definitely nifty while they lasted. ❞ after all, the killer corporation looming over the planet would probably track him down within SECONDS should he choose to access their finances WITHOUT authorization a SECOND time.

    nights like this felt the most PEACEFUL amidst their hectic lives together. . . no bandits, no fighting, no HYPERION— just the comforting hum of the caravan’s motor and a sea of stars glowing against their jet-black backdrop to marvel at.

     breaking through ( admittedly AWFUL ) first impressions had been difficult, but her efforts never went unnoticed. on these nights, she’d join him on the sofa and engage in idle small-talk until the two fell asleep, working to make ends meet as the makeshift team was forced to co-exist. while at first OFF-PUTTING, vaughn came to look forward to the habitual conversations, and soon the cheerful buzz of their voices joined the caravan’s lulling ambiance.
