I forgot I did this, but now itâs relevant to my life
Steve Rogers uses voice to text to send texts and formats them like a telegram
HEY BUCK STOP SAM AND I ARE OUT SHOPPING STOP WANT US TO PICK UP SOME TAKEOUT STOP
Steve rogers fully understands that this is not the correct way to text. He just likes the absolute outrage it causes every time someone receives a text from him and wants to see how many times he can make the same people explain texting to him until they realize. Sam is currently at 14 times, beating out tony whoâs at nine. Twice now shuri has facetimed him after reading buckyâs texts. Heâs also managed to convince thor that this is the Earth Way to text and itâs great

âTony can be a real ass, but no one could accuse him of a lack of generosity,â she agreed. If anything, he had been known for a tendency towards throwing money at any problem he couldnât blow up.
âYou know, I got to see some of your old sketches a long time ago, before you were recovered. Dr Erskine had a few loose pages in amongst his notes, they found their way into the old SSR files with everything he had on your serum.â She turned another page, after feeling consistently unattractive over the past few months as her body changed, the different perspective felt incredible to her.  âThese are beautiful.â
âThat part was easy. You are beautiful. Not sure I captured it completely but I gave it my best shot.â He put his heart there in the sketches and perhaps that had been part of why he hadnât really drawn since the War.  He didnât feel heart-whole.
âYou probably know I was color-blind before.  So I always used pencil or charcoal. I may have to try my hand at some colors now.â Not a huge priority but it could be a good way to help really record things. Plus colors had been so expensive back them.  Now money wasnât really an issue. No one used it because no government to really back it.  It was worthless in terms of survival. Â

Natasha: You want to get out of here?
Steve: Where are we going?
Natasha: To do something illegal.

She swept her hair over one shoulder so that it wouldnât be in the way. âI think that ideally, a home has the things you want most.  So family, loved ones, sure. But Iâll never discount the value of space, and knowing it belongs to you, and that you arenât in danger of losing it. Itâs why I kept that apartment, in spite of Tony ignoring my disgrace and offering me a room at Avengers Tower.â  She made a face, references to her disgrace were generally tongue in cheek these days. Even though they hadnât discussed it, she had a feeling Tony knew that her ejection from the Avengers had been a miscarriage of justice.
She flicked over the page so that she could start looking through Steveâs work.
Steveâs arms tightened around her for a moment.  âIâm sorry that all happened to you. But Iâm glad that Tony offered you a place. Heâs a good guy that way.â Bobbi deserved whatever she needed to make this new place her home.  He intended to make sure she got it. Nothing and no one would be able to take that away from her.
He didnât interfere with her perusal of his sketchbook. Mostly images of her throughout her pregnancy.  âJust practice sketches really.  Itâs been awhile since Iâve seriously done any art. Guess I finally had a good reason to pick it back up again.â There wasnât time during the war and after . . Well that kept being one big adjustment after another. Always the next fight.

She gave a small smile and nodded with a grateful sigh, though she was a little reluctant to move off his lap. She shifted, stood, and traded spots for him.  âOoh, I like getting to pick things.â  She grinned.  She had the craving to prepare the nest that she had been informed came with pregnancy, but since there was a lot of fumey work being done, she kept telling herself that the vaccine was essential to preparing for baby.
âActually living in my own home will be novel. I used to spend that much time off on assignment with the team.â The team that she still hadnât told her boys involved Coulson.  âWorking on the Bus, various espionage, I had a really nice apartment in New York but I only spent a few weeks a year there.â She reached for Steveâs sketch book.
Steve didnât stop her from taking the sketch book. While he might feel a bit self conscious at times about his work he hoped that Bobbi could see how beautiful she looked in his sketches.  The various stages of her pregnancy. Interaction with both others and the space around her.  Nothing he would want to hide.
âI can relate to that. Itâs nice to have this opportunity to really make a place into a home.  Though I always thought its not as much the place but what you do with it and who is in it that makes it a home.â A space is just a space until something put heart into it.  It could be comfort, or a person. Anything that made you connect to the area as a place that allowed you to recharge.
omg #26
all Bucky wanted to do was get some more tea and now this. Thanks a lot, Sam. You had to fuckinâ tell him, you ass.
Aggressively Progressive Steve Rogers is so what Iâm here for.
STeve would unleash and be all âDO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WHOOPING COUGH SUCKS?! DO YOU?! DO YOU REALLY?! ARE YOU FUCKINâ STUPID?! BUCKY, TELL THEM HOW I BROKE TWO RIBS! TELL THEM!â
Omg, new headcanon, Beleaguered Bucky Barnes being grabbed by the shoulders and practically lifted into camera view by Steve shouting about how Bucky needs to confirm some terrible illness because no one else is alive form that time to corroborate any of Steveâs claims. Bucky shyly telling the reporters that yes, Steve did indeed have that thing adn yeah it is dangerous and Steve jumping back into frame like âI told you! I TOLD YOU IT SUCKED SHUT UP JENNY MCCARTHY!â
âAND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE?! POLIO!â
âSteve you never had fucking polio-â
âYEA BUT IT STILL SUCKED! KNOW WHAT STOPPED IT?! VACCINES!â
âOh my God, Steve.â
âI DIDNâT EVNENKNOW WHAT THAT SHOT WOULD DO TO ME BUT I TOOK IT!â
âSteve, thatâs⌠Thatâs not really a good argument.â
âI DONâT CARE FOX NEWS NEEDS TO STOP USING MY IMAGE!â
âSteve, doll, calm down.â
âI VOTED FOR OBAMA!â
I would love to see Steve at a press conference go âItâs been brought to my attention that thereâs a certain idea of what kind of symbol I am for certain positions so Iâd like to clear a few things up. *clears throat*
Capitalism sucks, no human is illegal, STOP BEING RACIST, muslims are not terrorists, women can have all the sex they want and thatâs none of your business, homeless people are NOT criminal, vaccinations should be mandatory, Iâm a flaming homosexual and I should be able to marry who I want and not worry about getting fired for it, rapists should be shot, people should be able to live off of their income without working 3 jobs, and access to appropriate healthcare should be a right not a privilege. Thank you. Oh, and one last thing-
*looks camera dead on with a totally flat expression* Fuck fuckity fuck fuck.â *shuffles papers and walks away leaving stunned silence behind him*
reminder to self to draw that also, complete with reaction shots of all the Avengers

Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter p1 - p4 by skullbabyland
Bucky Barnes and dating in the 40's.
So, wow. Â Yeah. Â Another one of those âIâve been reading a lot of.. and.. (insert my opinion here).â
So, yes, Â I keep reading about Bucky as the ladies man: all sexed up and such. Â Itâs a bit baffling to me, as this is a very modern way of thinking. Â Dating - or courtship - was very different in the 30âs and 40âs than it is today!
For example, take this excerpt from A Brief History of Courtship and Dating in America, (Part 2):
Beth Bailey and Ken Myers explain in the Mars Hill Audio Report, Wandering Toward the Altar: The Decline of American Courtship, before World War II, American youth prized what Bailey calls a promiscuous popularity, demonstrated through the number and variety of dates a young adult could command, sometimes even on the same night.
In the late 1940s, Margaret Mead, in describing this pre-war dating system, argued that dating was not about sex or marriage. Instead, it was a âcompetitive game,â a way for girls and boys to demonstrate their popularity.
This describes a situation in which dating was more about oneâs reputation than any sort of romance. Â It was very important not only to be seen with many dates, but with the proper people. Â This explains why Steve would have had such a difficult time securing a partner: being seen with someone unpopular was worse than not being seen at all. Â However, this gives us a clue as to how popular Bucky must have been! Â If he was able to leverage himself in order to get Steve dates, Bucky must have been pretty high-ranking on the dating scale.
For men, desirable dating traits included a good personality and dance skills, as well as being âtactful, amusing, well dressed, prompt, and courteousâ (Great Depression and the Middle ClassâŚ).  Lasciviousness was not a good quality!  Women communicated with one another concerning a manâs suitability, so for Bucky to have been popular he couldnât have been the sex-centric playboy that fans like to imagine.  Itâs far more likely that he was well-spoken, funny, charming, and a great dancer.  Remember, Bucky was from the lower classes, so he wouldnât have had the money - despite the Depression, it was expected that men pay for the entire date (barring Sadie Hawkins themed events and once a couple started to go steady) - to impress women with a car and fancy clothes, nor would he have been able to take them out to dinner, so his dance skills would have been pretty important! Â
In fact, dancing was such a popular form of entertainment that, in one year, the University of Michigan fraternities held over 300 evening dances!
According to this web page âyoung people in the 1930s dated and double-dated by going to movies, getting something to eat, going for ice cream, driving around, spending time with friends, going to dances, and even ânecking.ââ  Thatâs right folks, necking.  Not fucking. Â
Women were expected to straddle a fine line between being too forward or too âfrigid,â both of which could harm their reputations.  Young people engaged in kissing, necking, and petting (meaning anything short of full intercourse).  Petting was becoming more common - due, in part, to rising automobile-culture - as was sex itself; heavier petting typically came from going-steady, and engagement âcame⌠to mean that partners would at some point âgo all the wayââ (Teen Culture in the 1930âs).  Ladies who were known to be free with their sexuality prior to commitment were in danger of being known for exactly that, and could easily become popular merely as a means to an end (the wrong kind of popularity).
So, it likely wouldnât have been hard for Bucky, as a popular young man, to find a willing partner (and Iâm certainly not suggesting that he was virginal). Â However, if he were the sort of man to focus on easy women, itâs not likely that he would maintain his own high rating (which, again, we can guess at by the fact that he was able to not only secure himself dates, but Steve as well). Â
This is a really quick and dirty run-down of dating and sex during the 30âs into the early 40âs, but there is a lot of information available out there.  Bucky is presented as a stand-up guy, so I donât really understand why so many people seem to view him as some sort of a man whore.  I sincerely doubt that he was entirely chaste (particularly once he went into the Army, a topic which I avoided on purpose), but I imagine that he was a desirable companion for his charm and dateability far more than for his sexual prowess.
