I got a copy of this book "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff in Love" almost 10 years ago. I guess it was a paperback though (my preference always). I was married and we both had our own quirks and not so sure if I was looking for something specific when I came across the book on Amazon and decided to buy a copy. We used to read it together, every night one of us would read a chapter out loud. I really enjoyed when we used to read together. I didn't honor our marriage vows and we got divorced. I kept the book.
The last long relationship I was in, I brought the book one time to my partner's house and on a second time she asked me to leave it there and later she claimed it was a gift to her (It was not). We never actually read it together, she probably used to flip through it and I remember she once referenced it during a conversation. The relationship ended and among other valuable losses, I lost 2 books and one water damaged book.
Few days ago I was thinking about this particualr book and wanted to have another copy. I ordered this one from eBay and when it arrived i found it’s a hardcover (not my preference) but to my good surprise it has this written gift note/letter:
Bubby – Although I think things are going extremely well for us, you never know when we’ll need to refer to this. I’m hoping things continue on the track they’re headed. I love you so much. Merry Christmas, I’m so happy you’re home and that we’re able to share the holidays together. We’ve been together through 7 Christmases! Amazing huh? Always - Trish (Pudge)
I shed some tears on relationships gone. I never reached 4th Christmas on either relationship. The gift note was not dated, sadly. I wonder where they are now that the book ended being sold (maybe a couple times?) but I hope wherever they might be that there is a possibility they are still enjoying a long lasting love!
