Hello world, I was bored in twitter when I saw a HR tweet with the word "core" and that remind me of the song "Rotten to the core" from Descendants. That made me think Shane is soooo Carlos coded and that inspired me to create a Heated Rivalry - Descendants AU.

HR as the main VKs:

- Shane Hollander as Carlos De Vil.

As I said Shane is so Carlos coded.

THE FUCKING FRECKLES is sooo perfect. Although the first think that made me relate them was their anxiety lol. They are two little balls of anxiety and neurodivergent kings.

Imagine Shane living as Carlos, abused by his mother (Sorry Yuna and David) to the point of an anxiety disorder. The lack of food at home and generally in the island made him get and ED, not knowing when he was gonna get more made him hoar the little that he had . He only went out of home for school and errands. It was after meeting Rose, that he gained some confidence in himself. Sveta and Ilya were a little difficult to get used to, but after the "Dragon's Eye quest" they became friends. (Let's pretend that he was kidnapped like rapunzel and his real parents aka Yuna and David are Anita and Roger, Cruella in revenge kidnapped him and the freckles were a plus bc they reminded her of the Dalmatians). He was scared of Ilya but still hold his punches, they became closer after Shane started tutoring Ilya (when he managed to convince Ilya that him making his hw was not helping him learn). Rose is the only one that knows that Shane has a crush on Ilya.

- Rose Landry as Evie

Rose with blue hair that's it. *mic drop*

Okay know being serious, I feel like Rose is perfect as Evie they are both cutie pies, so sweet, and understanding. And also very clever with good instincts.

Rose grew up isolated from the world after forgetting to invite Svetlana to her birthday party. She loves her mom but at the same time hates her. The food restriction, physical punishments for not walking correctly, not maintaining her posture, not getting her makeup done correctly etc. Meeting Shane and going to school helped her getting out of her shell. In the begging she was scared of Svetlana, but after the "Dragon's Eye Quest" they became friends. She was the one that gave Shane the idea to start tutoring Ilya to get closer. Shane is her best friend. She has a great sense of style. She developed the ability to design and create outfits with the materials Shane steals for her.

- Ilya Rozanov as Jay

Ilya and Jay share the charisma, being annoying, ladies man and they loooove getting into fights. (Also their sexy muscles and they are both BISEXUAL KINGS).

Ilya grew up with and abusive father that is slowly losing his mind, reminiscing the time when he was almost king until he got defeated. They have a store where they sell stolen goods. He learned from a young age how to charm people and get his sticky fingers into every valuable thing that crosses his eye. When he doesn't get a certain amount of goods for the store, he gets punished.

Svetlana and him are best friends since they were kids, their personalities match really well and together they terrorize everyone that is stupid enough to try to fight them. He has beef with the Hook's after he hooked up (not pun intended) with brother and sister at the same time with out them knowing. Shane's freckles were the first think he notice about him. He hold back his punches with him and later stared defending him when others tried bullying Shane. He doesn't care about school but he is trying for Shane.

- Svetlana Vetrova as Mal

Finally Svetlana, I feel like she is great as Mal. They both have strong personalities and parents with power. Now again imagine Sveta with purple hair...

Svetlana grew up with high expectations on her shoulders. She is a dragon with great powers she cannot use at the island. She is really creative, loves painting and can only express herself by doing graffiti around the island. Her mother is strict and can be really mean, their relationship is complicated. She is the queen at school, everyone knows better than having her as an enemy like Rose at the begging. She forgave her and they became friends (or maybe more later on). Ilya is her best friend and the one that understands her, he knows her deepest secrets and desires, like finding a way to get out of the island.

LET'S GO LESBIANS

Hello, it's me again. I just finished the book and I don't know what to say (I'm lying, this is gonna be a long rant…again).

After finishing the book I thought maybe I was the crazy one because I had only seen good reviews about it and maybe I was being way too harsh and critical about it after a quick search, Goodreads showed me that some people agree with me. I give this book a score of 1.5 stars out of 5. I'm honestly disappointed.

The Maze Runner was an amazing book, with good characters, fast pacing, a mystery, and a lot of questions. It was exciting, it was thrilling and I wanted to know more.

The Scorch Trials almost made the burning flame of my curiosity disappear. This book was like a long filler episode, they just walk, and walk, and walk, and eat and pee and continue walking through the desert, you have a little action sprinkle here and there and then we continue walking, only to have Thomas passing out every five seconds.

After three hundred pages when we finally arrived at the finish line, we found the most absurd thing I have ever read in my life. Wdym that some weird capsules emerge from the ground, creepy monsters come out from them, they fight, they get rescued and then Thomas just wakes up in a white room?? Are we still in the same book??

The character development I was hoping for, was nonexistent. If Thomas was already annoying because he could not stop thinking about Teresa, then we added Brenda to the mix and it became a whole new mess that I felt was unnecessary. The world is already hard as it is and you want to create a bland and underwhelming love triangle that is all over the place with characters that barely have an ounce of personality to distinguish from one another.

Honestly, I thought Thomas was making fun of me on the final pages when some of the Gladers didn't make it to Save Heaven he literally says "I didn't know them well anyway", no shit Sherlock.

Then the questions, we have a lot of questions that are still unanswered, I read almost four hundred pages for nothing??? Not even ONE answer??? What is WICKED actually doing? How do they get money and manpower to do everything? Is money still a thing after the fucking apocalypse? How does the economy work? Are all countries controlled by WICKED? All the areas are secluded? How does WICKED spy on them in the middle of the desert? What is the purpose of having everything planned? What makes Thomas that special? and I could go on.

At this point, WICKED is almost like an omniscient god more than an evil corporation/government/laboratory. They almost feel like fucking wizards, they have teleportation portals and eyes everywhere, they can heal people in an instant, they can alter their senses, they create monsters, etc. They can do all that but they cannot find the cure to a virus.

Wouldn't be more efficient, controlled, and cheaper if they just did what they did to Minho in the movies?

And to finish this long rant with another pet peeve of mine, Is Thomas Spiderman? Or why does he always know when something bad is about to happen?

Is 2024 and I'm making my way back into tmr, that saga has had a choke hold on me since elementary school. I was happy with the material we already had but James Dashner decided to write a sequel trilogy and now I have to catch up. (Honestly, I find a bit of a stretch in the new books, like 73 years later Sonya's granddaughter is the new protagonist, and SPOILER: I heard that they say that Newt was the supposed cure-all this time??? Idk maybe I would change my mind after I read them).

I loved the first movie and I tried reading the books in elementary school but The Scorch Trials was way too hard to understand for me, so I just stuck with the movies. I'm reading it again and it's as crazy as I remembered.

I'm appalled at how fucking annoying is Thomas. I'm on chapter 23 (I was) and I hope this gets better (it didn't). He just whines and is always thinking about Teresa, the only thing in his mind is "Teresa, Teresa, Teresa". Man, I understand you like her and you are worried about her but there are more important things happening. I can't believe he literally curls into a ball and cries because she is not there and is not answering his telepathic messages.

Another thing that baffles me is the lack of information about the other Gladers, I know the story is from Thomas's pov and he was in the Glade for like five days, but we have people dying in horrifying ways and no one reacts to it and in some cases we don't even know who just died. Like a guy just got decapitated by a metal ball and the only thing we know (after his death) is that his name was Frankie. And no one reacts to it, are Frankie friends in the room with us??? All the other guys without names are like npcs they don't really add a lot, they are just here to die.

When Jorge and Brenda appeared I was excited but that died as quickly as Franky, the moment I met Brenda's book personality. Wdym Brenda literally throws herself to Thomas, tells him that he would be a better leader, kisses him, and tells him that she likes him. Then she starts hugging him, holding his hand, resting her head on his shoulder, and she tells him that they should leave the others (including Jorge) and go to save heaven together. They met less than an hour ago, what the fuck is going on????? Where is badass Brenda??? Is a fucking post-apocalyptic world, with crazy zombies everywhere, why are you acting like that???

Right now I'm in chapter 34, things are getting exciting but I was hoping for some character development, not only for Thomas but everyone. Minho is really impulsive and that's something that puts them in a bad position with new people. Newt is just there, I was waiting for more action on his part. Overall I hope the dynamic between them evolves, in the movies they are a great trio and they feel like best friends, but in the book not so much.

And to finish this long rant a pet peeve of mine is what is with James Dashner describing the smell of everything??? I didn't want to know that in a small hallway reeks from everyone's breaths. I didn't want to know that something smells like Frypan's pits or Gally's feet, and I didn't want to know that Brenda's breath has a nonscent that Thomas finds pleasant, thank you very much.
