awww gosh! i’m still trying to figure out myself how to properly draw the clones (and literally the rest of the cast lmao), so this is such a great compliment, thank you kindly<3<3<3 

i did this little thing for you, it’s in no way a professional study, i simply piled up in one place all my current “guidelines” for drawing Rex (and implicitly the clones). note that i myself am uncertain of some of that stuff, i still need to practice and observe some more :”)

additional suggestions: don’t be me, always use references if you’re feeling uncertain and didn’t get a chance to practice enough. i don’t bother most of the time and guess that’s one of the reasons why everything i draw looks so inconsistent :”)

when using references, always keep in mind the fact that the art style, along with the characters’ designs, subtly change from one season to another (due to them aging, but mainly due to the show’s growth in production quality). i would pick a season and stick with it, at least as a start, otherwise it could feel confusing. this gifset by @mlmanakin shows really well what i was saying. notice how similar they look, yet also very different at the same time.
