     He was hardly giving her room to answer with how fast he was talking and how quickly      he was moving subjects, but to be fair he was more than slightly buzzed at the moment.      I mean, it’s the Christmas season, you can’t really expect much more from him. Poor      guy didn’t even have anyone to spend Christmas with. 

            “Well, I wish I could tell you a god honest answer, but all I’ve heard are rumors.” He brought the cigarette back to his lips for a short drag, considering what he could possibly say to a question like this. Honestly, he had no idea why the town was off the map. In fact, he’d never even heard the name before--he hardly ever left Seattle. He’d been to Rome, Florida, Portland, couple other places, but for the most part, he stuck to Seattle, and rarely payed much attention to any other place in the world. But, you know, he was bored, and stranded by a broken down car on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, with no ride and no service. So, this was his chance to tell a little story. “Do you believe in aliens?”

“Do you remember the time I told you that you couldn’t beat anyone up, even if you tried, so you punched me in the face and I cried for five minutes straight? It wasn’t up until that day that I believed you weren’t lying about your job.” A small grin rose to his lips, a hint of laughter leaving his lips. “I would  have been fucking terrified if I had you as a bouncer when I was seventeen and still trying to sneak into bars.”

   He can’t even word a proper response to that. No, instead, he just   starts laughing, head tilted back and wide grin spread on lips. Yeah,   he was a little drunk. Okay, more than a little drunk. He was a pretty   big light weight as it was, but he was on his tenth beer, and couldn’t   stop laughing. “Th--That’s--” he drew a sharp breath and the laughter   rose once more, moving to lie down on the ground facing the ceiling.   “--fucking hell, Atty, that’s fucking genius.”
