Hopper was dead in interviews until he was revealed to be alive.

Will was just stuck in his childhood with being gay "a way you can interpret it" as recent as right before season 4 volume 2.

The cast was even coy about Max's fate after season 4 despite her technically being alive.

These interviews are carefully controlled to preserve storylines. The cast is coached on how to answer questions without spoiling. Everything they say has been coached. And even then stuff can be taken out of context.

None of these interviews disprove Byler anymore than they prove it. That's for the show to do. Nothing short of the Duffers coming out and saying "yeah, Byler isn't happening, we're sorry it got this out of hand" will convince me otherwise.
