Flag of the state of Nebraska, USA.

there are just shy of 2 million people in this god forsaken state. and they must pledge their allegiance to this? this is shit. this is a terrible flag. the uninventive color scheme of the backdrop combined with a state seal is used by 14 other states, and yet, this STILL found a way to be the worst. it is amplified by there being barely any recognizable features from over 10 feet away due to every detail being yellow. i kid you not, the flag was actually flown upside down at the capitol for 10 days before ANYBODY noticed. even the flag of New Hampshire, in all of its blandness, still has a CRUMB of color diversity. the state of Oregon, another similar flag, is also exclusively yellow and blue. but it at least has STATE OF OREGON comedically displayed in big blocky letters, so it gets a pass on the basis of subtlety

it’s not even like this hasn’t been addressed before. there has been multiple pushes to redesign the flag (ESPECIALLY after the whole upside down thing) and yet. we haven’t. it’s not like it’s impossible to redesign a state’s flag, either, as Georgia actually did in 2003 after being voted the worst state/provincial flag by a large margin.¹ and this is bothersome because Nebraska has nothing better to do. its international reputation is being boring and completely void of scenery (which, isn’t completely true, however, holds merit on I-80)
