In Your Style Challenge
July 2018 In July of 2018, a challenge was going around Instagram in which an artist would draw a character in their personal art style, and then ask their followers to redraw said character in their style. These are a few of the drawings I produced when taking part in this challenge.
Photo Studies
July 2018 More photo studies, this time from July 18th - July 20th. As I post my work on Instagram, I picked a theme for each set of 3 photo studies in order to keep my Instagram profile looking cohesive and clean. Again, all references were found on Pinterest.
Photo Studies
July 2018 Photo studies from the 15th, 16th, and 17th of July. It was my goal for this month to draw a photo study every day, as I really wanted to get a better handle on colour (an obviously key element in my artwork). All reference images were found on Pinterest.
Photo Study
July 2018 A photostudy from the 11th of July 2018, using reference from the website Lazy Oaf (an independent London fashion brand). I really admire the clothing designs that Lazy Oaf put out into the world.

Photo Studies
July 2018 Photo studies from July 7th and July 8th, the first of which was referenced from a Vogue photoshoot and the second of which was referenced from a photograph on pinterest. These were, again, studies to practise my understanding of colour relativity, and were painted in Adobe Photoshop. When I do my photo studies, I challenge myself not to use the eyedropper tool until the end of the painting so that I can check my colours against the original photograph to see how I accurate I was. I feel like I learn more that way, and have found this to be a very beneficial practise in terms of understanding bouncelight and the balance of skintones.
Traumatic Vitamins
July 2018 Character design for a fictional band called Traumatic Vitamins. The original lines were drawn using a ballpoint pen in my sketchbook, and then scanned and coloured in Adobe Photoshop.

Pear - Oil Painting
July 2018 An homage to my fruit-themed miniseries from earlier this year, featuring a boy with a pear on his shirt. This piece was painted using Reeves watersoluble oil paints, as well as regular oil paints. I worked on top of an underpainting of acrylics to provide a base for the painting.
Consumption Conversation
June 2018 A playful concept inspired by the classic idea of the banna phone.

Photo Studies
May 2018 Photo studies from May 27th, 29th, and 31st. These were all loose experiments using a textured brush in Adobe Photoshop, and were mainly an excuse for me to practise my understanding of colour and colour relativity. All images were referenced from photographs found on Pinterest.
Heatstroke
May 2018 Another experimental piece focusing on the use of the primary colours magenta, yellow, and cyan.
Oil Practise
May 2018 Some very messy oil studies painted using Reeves water soluble oils on gesso-primed sketchbook paper. This was my first proper time painting with oil paints, and it was definitely an interesting experiment. I used images from Pinterest as reference for the two girls, and added gold details using a gold acrylic ink.
Breakfast Time
March 2018 A two part miniseries focused around breakfast foods. 'Breakfast Mouth' was actually inspired by lyrics I misheard from a song, while 'Unlucky Charms' is a cynical play on the popular American breakfast cereal.
AS Level Art - Final Piece
March 2018 I briefly took up AS level art in an effort to build a portfolio for applying to courses the following year. These four images were drawn primarily with biro, with subtle additions of coloured pencil to saturate colours where necessary.Â

Shadows
March 2018 Digital paintings united by their use of colourful shadows. These were all very experimental, and were mainly an excuse for me to play with colour.
Digital Collages
March 2018 Digital collage of my own paintings, again composed and drawn in Adobe Photoshop. For this piece, I was inspired the work of illustrator Ana Godis, who briefly experimented with laying out her artwork in a moodboard-esque style.
