Some experiments with Sprites in basic on the Commodore 64. I had to learn how to convert binary numbers to decimal numbers to do this, which was really fun and surprisingly straightforward. I also got to learn a lot about how memory works in the c64. Because I'm such a huge classic Mac/Susan Kare fan I chose to try the happy mac for my sprite. It's not quite the same as the original happy mac though as mac icons had more pixels than c64 sprites so I had to do the best I could with what I had.
Getting my music game graphics into unity! So satisfying to see them working!
Today I made the playback / release screen. This one will likely change a lot as I figure out the functionality for this moment in the game. But this will do for the prototype.
Frantically producing modules for my music game. Today I created the drums and the player number input screen featuring a 'high resolution' pixel display!

Today I worked on the graphics for the synthesiser and guitar instrument modules for my music game. Very happy with how these are turning out!
Continuing work on the instrument modules for my music game. Today I created the performance module/microphone/by meter.
Continuing work on the graphics for my music game. Today I worked on the fader for the player change screen (left) and the bass instrument module (right) as well as making several refinements to the recording module (top)
Today's I worked on the graphics for the rack and recording console module for the music game I'm working on.
I spent the afternoon working through the designs for the instruments in my music game and blasting Moroder

I'm working on a game idea that needs multitrack recording so I built this multitrack recorder in unity this afternoon to get together a class that does all of the recordy stuff that I need.
Spent the day on something that may or may not be fun, may or may not be interesting...
And here it is running on the iPhone. Pretty fun arvo of work. A quick and dirty experiment in adapting my responsive train track tiles into Augmented Reality objects. You can move the cards around and the tracks reconfigure themselves to create the appropriate connections.

Today is pretty exciting - a new publication and website that I have been building for some time is launching. NiTRO by the Australian Council Of Deans And Directors Of Creative Arts is a publication and platform for views and news in the tertiary creative arts community.
I have worked with a small but excellent team at the DDCA to bring this all together; Su Baker the DDCA president, Jenny Wilson our editor and Kay Morrissey. My role has been technical, designing and building the publication from the ground up.
Check it out at http://ddca.edu.au ps (The 'Watt' spelling is a reference to an industry thing).
There were a lot of interesting design problems to solve in the creation of this platform, it has been an extremely satisfying process!
