I've learned the importance of an audience for writing and design. The different types of audiences we've had to write for has shown me how much they effect the style and format of my writing. The audience analysis questions for this class will be very useful for projects in future classes.
Original Post #3 Week 15
What do you like the most about your essay?
So far, my essay is not completely done, but my favorite part of my essay is the organization aspect. I tried my best to make sure all aspects of the essay were clearly identified and easy to understand what will be talked about in each section. Although it is not finished yet, I will continue to work and build upon it throughout the next week.
Organization is very important for interviews so it's great that you're focusing on that in your essay! It really shows a future employer that you care about your work and are detail oriented (as they love to say).
My Writing Strengths
In my writing process, I am most proud of my outlining skills. I like laying out everything I plan on doing in my essay, especially highlighting the different points I want to make. This helps me write more from my perspective. If I know what to write about and discuss, then I can go on a deep dive into every little piece and expand on the topics greatly. Laying out my papers with questions I want to/should answer is a great way for me to focus on what I am creating.
Creating an outline before writing is great! I agree that outline lets you deep dive into topics. Without an outline, my deep dives end up being tangents that stray away from the purpose of my writing, so I always make sure to plan ahead.
Helped Needed
I don't have specific class examples yet but I will add them. I don't know if I should focus more on how I used peer feedback or if I should focus on feedback I gave? I think both are important to mention, but how should I balance the two?

Happy Week 15!
Can we put images in the learning essay when we talk about examples of class projects?
I am struggling to meet the word count for any of the essay questions. Should I be using multiple examples of classwork for each one? Or was one example your expectation?
What are some examples of digital writing ethics?
H2WG GRADE
I photoshopped ALL of the images and thumbnails I made for my guide. Here are screenshots of my files. I thought I made it very clear in my reflection letter that I created all of the thumbnails myself by combining images the same way a creator would. Please regrade my work with this information.
@npfannen
The thumbnail that comes together through the steps was also created by me.
Improving My Essay
When I mention key concepts, I will give plenty of context clues for what they mean. Information architecture or discourse community might not be the terms used by the future employer for those concepts. Showing that I understand the key concepts this way will also show that I'm not just using them as buzz words to act like I know what I'm talking about.
This Pringles can caught my attention in the Anchor today. Its unique and distinct shape make these chips very recognizable. I have a lot of flex money I still need to spend, so I will probably be buying more :]
Example Posts
This is a small section of my design project, illustrating some of the angry fan replies to the cancelation of the show. I think I have made a good use of variety and language in these examples, but I am unsure as to if I am creating realistic points/posts. I attempted to create examples of the fans commenting and being responded to by other fans as well as the studio. I hope that this small section is showing my plans in a thought out and concise way, but would love (and greatly benefit from) some input from you all!
I think adding an extra fan comment is great because you could explain that choice in the guide. A post that has a lot of engagement means more fans are likely to see the company's reply. It would save the intern time because just a few responses can reach thousands of people.

Happy Week 14!
For the reflection letter for the pivot guide, the last question asks "what changes will you make for the next project?" Should I answer this by talking about the final essay or just state general changes that would apply to any hypothetical project?
Also, does this week's extra credit post prompt mean I should share a design that caught my attention? The wording in the overview is confusing me a bit so I just want to make sure.
@npfannen
share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. help us feel the feels
The only show that I had ever seen cancelled was Sam & Cat back when I was a kid. Since ICarly had ended, that was the second best show to watch. I remember it not airing anymore and I had to ask my mom about it. When she said it was cancelled I remember being really disappointed, and then I started to watch victorious instead.
I remember a few shows getting cancelled as a kid and being upset too. I think Disney and Nickelodeon were really good at advertising other shows to the point that I would forget about the cancelled shows very quickly (small child brain). I'm sure having a younger target audience makes canceling shows much easier for them.

This is an example of an angry fan post and a response from the studio. How does this look? Does it look like a Tweet?
I think this looks like a tweet. It has all the necessary elements. I don't think the likes, retweets, etc. are needed so I would stick with this format.
This is the part of my pivot guide that gives examples of what types of posts the intern should respond to. My goal with the explanations is to explain the fans' perspective and why the company wants to respond to them. Are these 2 explanations easy to follow? On the next page of my guide, this same format will be used but the explanations next to the tweets will be about how the intern should write replies.
Is this an effective intro? I don't think the intern would even read this short paragraph when looking over the page, but maybe if it's this short they would be more likely to.

share a section of your Design Project content. What is the work of this sample? How can we help you revise?
As of now, this is my cancellation post. Is this too general? Should I add or take anything out of this post? I feel that now looking back on it, it could be written better but I'm not sure how. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!
I think "At this time, we are...word." could be changed to something like "Please do not send hate to the actors and actresses as they had no control of this situation." The sentence you have now could come across as making the company the victim. Already angry fans would unfortunately be quick to read too much into this post to find things like this to be more mad about.
