Ann grinned at the question, glad that for once he was indulging her in her need to meddle help him with his love life. âWell,â she mused, a sing-songy tone entering her voice, âyou really should talk to her more. Tell her you like her instead of awkwardly holding out like sheâs going to notice because youâre probably not being obvious enough. Subtlty is okay in most aspects of life, but not in love or dating. You need to speak your mind. Youâre not very good at that,â she teased.Â
Love. Dating was something he had done before, but loving someone - that was entirely new. And sure, he liked Hope ( he liked her quite a lot ), but what really caught his attention was how Anna had interpreted his feelings for her friend to be...that strong. Were they? He couldnât really answer that. Not when his âlove life,â or whatever you want to call it - was not quite as clean cut as he presented everything else to be. But that was a conversation for another time - one that was too dangerous to share with anyone. Even with a friend like Anna.
âHey! I speak my mind!â Matthew managed, ( though his internal self indicated proved Annaâs point ) as he attempted to push his more serious thoughts to the back of his mind. ( As far back as he could, anyway ). âAlso, I said hi to her the other day! I mean, conversations need to have a purpose...I canât just randomly go up to her. Plus, whatâs the success rate with your technique? Have you done it before?â
