IDK if you all remember but one time I made a post defending fursonas and someone made a disgusting post claiming I’m into bestiality based on that alone. It was really graphically worded and described sex acts with animals. It was extremely upsetting. People are Wild.

When I was younger everyone I knew on the internet had a fursona, in every community I joined. Whether we were designing ourselves as Neopets or Dragons or Wolves, it was just a thing kids did. And as we got older and better at art, it was fun to reimagine those designs!!

It’s STILL fun to say “this is me if I lived in the woods. I’m an otter who wears striped sweaters.”

Like I’m sorry if that bothers you or if you’ve been made to immediately assume there’s something sexual about that.

There’s not for me. I think fursonas are cute, and I think the work that goes into fur suits are impressive, and unless they’re actually individually harming another person, I think there’s nothing wrong with furries, but the same goes for every subculture.

There are bad people in any large community. They need to be stomped out, but unless the community is branding themselves at large using those bad people, you can’t exactly judge the whole community for it.

Last time I made a post like this, people anonymously sent me detailed descriptions of certain traumas they suffered by people into the furry community. The kind of people who ask for TW tags but who apparently don’t see me as a person and feel they can send me graphic content at will.

And let’s not forget when there was a gas attack at that furry convention, an attempt to kill people, and the SAME people who dress up and go to anime conventions and comic cons were reblogging the headline like it was a joke.

IDK. I figure I’ll be attacked similarly for this again, but I think it’s just sorta tired and weird how immediately and negatively people react to furries still in 2019?

Most of the warming centers offered in the city proper for adults are only open until 3pm, most libraries close at 8pm, and only the government center downtown is open to the public until 10pm.  The wind chill advisory is in effect until nine AM on Thursday morning, which means folks will have to survive two nights of this kind of weather.

Some examples:

There are some cis men who have gynecomastia (also known as “man boobs”) and need surgery to get a flat chest. Some of these guys aren’t even overweight, they just start to grow breast tissue.

Lots of men feel inadequate due to the size of their penis, and there are men who don’t have a penis at all, usually due to an accident like being shot, being in a car smash, or because of a botched circumcision. I remember reading about a guy who lost his penis as a child in a sledding accident!

I remember feeling really dysphoric about my hips at one time, and went on an online hunt and found some cis guys with huge hips (they provided photos) and they also had the same struggles I emotionally felt.

As far as a monthly cycle goes, I used to know a guy who had to wear pads because of a tailbone injury he experienced that caused random bleeds. Made me feel slightly better about needing to use sanitary products for a while, knowing my cis male friend had to go through that too. 

That “Someone Complimented you” post is not related to Sex trafficking. It’s an app called IRL where anyone who signs up for it will unintentionally send out a text with that message to all of their contacts.

There were 6 Celtic nations.

Éire, Cymru, Alba, Kernow, Breizh, and Ellan Vannin.

Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Cornwall, Brittany, and the Isle of Mann respectively.

They’re all related, but not the same. They all have different languages descended from a similar group, Irish (Gaeilge), Scottish (Gàidhlig), Manx (Gaelg), Welsh (Cymraeg), Cornish (Kernowek), and Breton (Brezhoneg). Some are more widely spoken than others, for example Welsh is still commonly spoken in Wales, whereas hearing Cornish in Cornwall instead of English is rare.  All Celtic nations have varied mythology and culture. Irish Mythology is different from Breton Mythology, and even Welsh and Cornish mythology (arguably the most related Celtic Nations) have subtle differences to each other. I wish I could add more about the cultures at this time but my knowledge of Celtic nations is primarily made up of the history and languages of those regions, particularly Cornwall. 

You might have notice that England and English are missing from this, because the English descended from Anglo-Saxons, who were German invaders that came to the isles right around the Fall of the Roman empire in the 5th Century, erasing the Celtic influence in what is now England.

i remember looking at a bottle of sleeping pills and going “i’m going to kill myself. i’m not going to get out of this town. i’m not going to be able to get into a good college” and then i would go “but wait! if you die tonight, you won’t be there when they invent time travel. what if you die tonight and aliens land tomorrow and you miss it. the entire world would change and you would miss it.” “ah, yes. good point. i’ll wait until next week to die. once i’m dead i’m dead, so i can wait a little longer to see if something cool happens before then.”

the whole “you have so much to live for!” idea was nice and well intentioned, but i felt like people were just spouting bullshit at me because i didn’t. i didnt have any friends or dates or talents.  i had nothing to really live for.

but things like “oh, well if you die now you won’t be able to find out who jon snow’s mother is” did help. because i went “oh, well i’ll finish this book to figure out if my theory is right first.” because i was going to die anyway so a few more hours wouldn’t hurt and by the end of the book i felt less suicidal.
