the tears were from disbelief that i could live a life where i wouldn’t hear a peep from him. i never imagined a life without him, but life knowing he was still preying on me was a point i never imagined we’d come to. i knew after that phone call, there would be no more flashbacks, no more power trips, no more reminders of a time when i felt robbed of everything i was.
