An adult, female Tarbosaurus makes a dash towards a potential prey item. Animals are drawn to this receding freshwater reservoir daily, and she, wisely, has learned to wait for her food to come here.
Stubby tailed T-Rex finds himself a mate!
Don’t mind me, I’m just going crazy over how perfect Prehistoric Planet is!!!
Triceratops Skull Triceratops horridus Late Cretaceous (approx. 66 million years ago). Hell Creek Formation, South Dakota.
90 inches (228 cm) long, 57 inches (145 cm) wide, supraorbital brow horns each measuring approx. 36½ inches (93 cm) in length, nasal horn measuring approx. 7¾ inches (20 cm) in length. Height of 92½ inches (235 cm) when mounted on custom stand. Estimated weight of 441 pounds (200 kg).
Fossil mammalian tumbling from a cliff just above the Hell Creek Formation.
Coming across a large mammalian fossil while prospecting near the K-Pg boundary in the Hell Creek was not something I was expecting, but it was an exciting surprise nonetheless. The articulated vert and associated pieces likely belonged to a bison (and was not part of the Hell Creek), a tibia from a separate individual can be seen slightly on the hill to the back left.

Dinosaurs from the late Cretaceous Hell Creek Formation, Fort Peck Museum.
The Hell Creek formation is home to some of the most famous dinosaurs, including T-rex and Triceratops. The images show a T-rex hunting a hadrosaur, Triceratops skull, and a Struthiomimus.
Montana Badlands scenery.
While on my recent paleontology excursion in the Hell Creek Formation, I took the time for some very pretty scenery pictures. The Badlands can be an incredibly harsh environment, but with the rain this summer, it was beautifully green.
Hey folks. I’m back from my dinosaur trip.
Pictured above include my group at the kpg boundary.
Next is me and the professors and dr at our quarry site. We had been digging for a week and we were pretty tired. So we took a nap in the shade and wet clay to stay cool.
Then comes my little squad at our triceratops site. (That was one hell of a hike let me tell you)
Last is the sun setting over the ranch we stayed at for a month.
I miss Montana. I highly recommend it and to volunteer for dino digs.
Spent 6 days in the Montana badlands, (Hell Creek Fm) hunting dinosaurs. Found a lot of fossils, most of which are triceratops. It’ll be a good while before everything I turned in is identified though.
