im just so happy i live in a time period where actual meaningful biological transition is possible. even if we lose rights or the ability to exist in public, nothing can turn back the clock on that, and just by having any sort of access to that our lives are made immensely better. millions of our sisters throughout history would never have dreamed of a day where they could have what HRT does for us.
please don't lose the plot of this. if you're a trans person on HRT you're a living miracle, the dream of hundreds of millions of your ancestors. your lives are all deeply meaningful no matter what anyone says.
A prayer by Kalonymus b. Kalonymus ben Meir that appears in his poem הפר ××× ××××, ×× Sefer Even Boįø„an (§13), describing the author's wish t
Cursed be the one who announced to my father:
āItās a boy!"...
...How could he twist the course of the stars so much?
How could he have erred so in his astrology?
A lying tongue, a foolās mouth it had given him
For he foolishly transformed justice to poison
He altered the law and transposed the lines
Oh, but had the artisan who made me created me instead ā a worthy woman...
...I would say "how lucky am I"
Father in heaven
who did miracles for our ancestors with fire and water...
...Who would then transform me from a man to woman?
Were I only to have merited this being so graced by goodness...
What shall I say?
why cry or be bitter?
If my father in heaven has decreed upon me
and has maimed me with an immutable deformity
then I do not wish to remove it.
the sorrow of the impossible is a human pain that nothing will cure
and for which no comfort can be found.
So, I will bear and suffer until I die and wither in the ground.
Since I have learned from our tradition
that we bless both, the good and the bitter
I will bless in a voice hushed and weak:
blessed are you [HaShem] who has not made me a woman.

Saying this with all the love in my heart, "Trans" is not a magical title that erases all social biases and discriminations you hold in your mind the moment you transition.
You have to actually ACTIVELY unlearn all that shit. You can actually be trans AND hold TERF and racist beliefs, it is in fact very easy.
Read studies and essays, Engage with the works of other minorities, Don't think you're just better by virtue of losing *some* privilege.
i think its funny how if you imagine something scary enough your brain starts treating it like its real and out to get you. its really cool and not annoying at all
going over to my minimalist girlfriendās house and she apologizes profusely for the mess and thereās just a single perfect, fresh pea on the floor of her living room
i deserve a medal for this post. not because i was particularly funny but because i survived an onslaught of nearly one hundred gimmick blogs in the wake of this post popping off, and the fact that i didnāt try to track any of them down and snuff them out with my bare hands is a testament to my immeasurable strength and should be rewarded. at one point i had āthe official letter hā add on to this post. you wanna know that blogās gimmick? the really funny and original and worthwhile gimmick the official letter h blog had? yep you guessed it they just gave me the god damned letter H and then fucked off. only jesus knows the suffering i endured over that harsh winter, and he wept for me

Many Western creators seem eager to deconstruct genres and mediums they never respected in the first place. That's why their parodies or attempts at parody often come across as shallow or dismissive.
That's also why, in my view, many Western visual novels fall flat. Too many people seem to assume that visual novels are just poorly written novels with graphics attached, rather than a distinct medium with its own conventions, strengths, and artistic possibilities.
Before starting, letās review the terms weāll use on this analysis. Winnicott introduces the concept of a āfalse selfā as something that happens when the mother canāt sustain the emotional needs of her child. A baby is known to be spontaneous, often seeking reassurance and needing help. A good enough mother is one that responds successfully to most of these calls, hence the kid feels confident being their spontaneous self, and doesnāt feel the need to mask and hide their needs while growing up. However, if the mother fails to provide support for her kid, children might learn that their needs and desires arenāt acceptable, or canāt be fulfilled for any reason, becoming compliant and adjusting their behavior to suit their mother better. This leads the kid to develop a False self to hide their vulnerable core, the True Self.Ā
A ātransitional spaceā is created in between a childās separation and reunion with their mother. Being away from their mother is a situation outside of a childās control, but in this transitional space, the kid can use an object, like a toy or a mattress, to replace the motherās presence and maintain the illusion of reunion until their mother comes back. This transitional object helps the kid regulate their negative emotions, and they are expected to be able to regulate themselves without an object as they grow up. This is how kids develop independence and deal with separation anxiety, taking control during playtime over a situation that ultimately is out of their control. The relationship a child establishes with illusion can define how they deal with negative feelings later in life.
Itās implicit that Hatsune had to constantly suppress her own emotional needs: she didnāt even allow herself to cry during her foster fatherās funeral because āshe had to be strong for her mother and her sisterā. We can assume Hatsune had to adapt herself to her environment, not getting the comfort she needed from her mother and forcing her to constantly search for objects that would provide her with the same sense of security that her mother once did.Ā
The object of her fantasy was then transferred to Sakiko; but not the Sakiko we know, rather an idealized version created to conceptually fulfill the deficiencies Hatsune suffers since her childhood. The pain of disillusionment is unbearable and deeply painful because there is no secure reality to return to, nor a mother who will welcome her and make her feel capable of facing reality again. The only way Hatsune can cope with her life is by taking refuge in this transitional space between reality and illusion, since accepting reality would mean accepting that her worst fears are true: that she has never belonged, that her very existence is a mistake, and that she will never be able to be worth as much as other people. Because of this flaw in the illusion, what Winnicott calls a āpathological attachment to a substitute object for the motherā occurs, with Sakiko serving as this object. The idea of Sakiko is used by Hatsune to self-regulate. When under distress, Hatsune immediately jumps to āwanting to see Sakiā.
Hatsune exhibits characteristics typical of what Bowlby classifies as anxious-ambivalent attachment, having a visceral fear of abandonment and reacting intensely when circumstances or other people threaten to separate her from Sakiko, even going so far as to have aggressive thoughts toward others if she feels they āmight take her away from her.ā Hatsune does not come to terms with the loss of her motherās support, but rather denies it. Hatsune exhibits the profile of an addictive style when relating to the object, where the object is necessary for the individualās emotional regulation, leading her to depend on it. Sakiko is used to alleviate Hatsuneās anxiety and insecurity, and although she has no real intention of harming her, there is a certain level of rejection toward a genuine emotional connection or the acknowledgment of Sakiko as a separate individual with desires that do not align with her own. The desire to possess her and prevent Sakiko from leaving her manifests as an internalized compulsion, repressed by the shame that expressing it would entail. However, we can know Hatsuneās compulsions arenāt her true intentions, as sheās shown to be horribly distressed at the thought of how much harm she attributes herself to cause over Sakikoās life. Even if she, egotistically, wishes Sakiko was lonely so she would only rely on her, in reality Hatsune is pained by the responsibility of ātaking everything away from Sakikoā.
The theme of the bandās masks functions as a symbolic object representing the false Self. Hatsune, using her own sister as her fake identity, presents the image of a successful, calm, kind, and cheerful girl, but beneath it hides a neurotic, anxious personality that fears rejection and, above all, is malleable; Throughout the series, we can observe that Hatsune imitates the gestures and personalities of others in an attempt to connect deeply with Sakiko, but they end up being nothing more than empty gestures that lack the same warmth and affection as the originals. Hatsune perceives and internalizes that these gestures give others the results she wants to achieve with Sakiko, and this very thought leads her to imitate Tomoriās own writing style, trying to build yet another mask that will allow her to secure a stable emotional bond with Sakiko.
In episode 11 of the series, Hatsune tells us her story through a soliloquy on stage. In certain scenes, we see two Hatsunes: one wearing the mask and one without it (which represents Uika, or even her superego prosecuting the idās wishes). The unmasked Hatsune rejects, humiliates, and attacks the other Hatsune, questioning her feelings, criticizing her for being pathetic, for loving Sakiko, and accusing her of playing the victim so that sheāll see how badly sheās suffering. The feelings of the true Self are constantly rejected, minimized, and repressed through the story due to Hatsuneās belief that her very existence is unforgivable and her sincerity will inevitably lead to rejection.Ā
(I am. extremely passionate over this scene because it goes to show how much Hatsune internally prosecutes her own feelings and how far she has convinced herself that she is evil and secluded to the role of an unhappy child that has to steal from the happy child, to the point that she is convinced her own sadness and human need for comfort are disingenuous, based in lies or an act she performs for sympathy)
Winnicott also discusses the object relationship and specifically how the relationship with the mother permeates the creative process of every individual. The lyrics of Ave Mujica are composed by Hatsune and generally refer to an unjust world, a meaningless life, and the eternal search for a salvation that never comes. Hatsune often composes melodies about her desire to be accepted, but she also sublimates her aggressive impulses in her songs, expressing how she wishes, for example, to trap Sakiko so she cannot escape; describing how āher cold hands bury what she should love,ā or her weariness at living a life that does not reward her strengths and instead punishes her for her mere existence. Hatsuneās dissatisfaction with her family life is reflected in the themes she chooses for her songs and the profound anguish she expresses, as well as the aggressive impulses directed at her illusory object. There is also something to be said about how constant the theme of humiliation and loss of control permeates Ave Mujicaās songs. It is fairly implied that Sadaharu and Hatsuneās mother relationship had a certain level of power imbalance, as he was her boss, older and with considerable economical and social influence. Hatsune might even express her anguish for her own mother in her songs, as well as for herself. Sadaharu exercises his power against both of them to suppress, control and humiliate them, creating a completely hostile environment if they don't behave according to what he wants from them.
While the intensity of Hatsuneās feelings may seem disturbing and uncomfortable at first glance, when analyzed from an empathetic perspective and with an understanding of her full history, it becomes clear that Hatsune is a victim of a deficient environment that, from her early childhood, failed to meet the criteria both authors indicate are necessary for proper personality development. She had to adapt to an environment that naturally rejected her, and her emotional and affective needs were not met within her family environment, which led to an intense, internalized sense of otherness, abandonment, and rejection, borderline personality traits, and an unstable, shifting sense of identity. As soon as she met someone who seemed to appreciate her, she felt so happy that she decided to base her entire life plan on pursuing that personās presence, even if it meant having to live a life built on lies. Hatsuneās humanity was stripped away by the abandonment and alienation she suffered her entire life as a direct consequence of Sadaharuās influence, and was later restored by Sakikoās kindness. Hatsuneās story does not speak of an individual pathology that exists in a vacuum independent of the way she interacts with the environment, and holding her solely responsible as an individual, ignores the influence the social system had in isolating her, ridiculing her, and hindering her proper integration and socialization.
needless to say i am hopelessly addicted to this hatsune

idk if this is controversial or not, but I really like when non-professional writing like fic has hints of author bleedthrough when it comes to like, what different people assume is common knowledge. Like sometimes Iāll be reading a fic and itāll just be obvious that the person writing it is either obsessed with medicine or has been to medical school, because theyāll use terms that are just a shade too technical without explaining them. Itās never the super specific stuff that theyād know other people are unaware of, itās always the things that once youāve known it for a while you forget itās niche knowledge. Itās fun because as a fanfic reader it reminds me of how this is a fun hobby community, where everyone has their own thing going on outside of fandom. Everyoneās got their own specialties and they canāt help but write that into their work sometimes
