“Ohh you did not just do that. Did you just Sir me? You mistake me for my father, kid. Ah! There you have it. You’ve effectively aged me now.” Noah messed around with the guy, always feeling a shudder running down his back when someone called him Sir. He wasn’t even forty yet, come on. “Your ma just raise you right, or do I really look that old?” 

Mason can’t help but to laugh with his answer knowing that he was just messing with him, it wasn’t his intention to age him up. “I’m so sorry for calling you sir, I was just trying to be respectful to the elderly.” Teasing him more, holding up a chuckle that wanted to escape his lip. “Hmm, maybe I should answer that with no... right?”

“Oh you’ve got to be kidding me.” Georgie complained as her purse fell on the floor, spreading all of its contents as she stood outside of the bar. As if her night hadn’t been a complete mass already, her phone screen seemed to be broken and it was clearly the cheery on top. She came out to have a good time with some friends when, suddenly, a guy started to hit one of her friends and when they stepped up to try and subdue the situation, into only escalated when a drunk random guy came to their rescue and a fight was initiated. And even though Georgie and her friends had nothing to do with it, they got kicked out of it along with the guys involved.

“I don’t know if your motives were actually genuine or not, but thanks, for stepping up.” The brunette said as she picked her purse back, securing it over her shoulder as she looked at their ‘savior’. “You probably need to put some ice on your eye, it is definitely not looking good.”

Whenever Mason goes to a bar, he tries his best not to be involved in any mess because of two reasons: one, he will definitely be called in his sister’s office knowing she has eyes on every corner of London and two, he doesn’t want to ruin his face. However, due to circumstances which include witnessing an unmanly act from the other, he couldn’t help but let himself be involved. Disrespecting a woman was a big no for him. A lesson his mother taught them ever since they were little. The plan of just a small talk suddenly became a huge bar fight that eventually got them kicked out.

His drunken state washed off when a few punches landed on his face, leaning over on a pole nearby as he wiped the small blood from his busted lips, he tried to come up with an acceptable explanation to his sister of what happened tonight. Eyes flickering up to make eye contact with the female, “You’re welcome, it just doesn’t sit well with me watching guys disrespecting you.” he explained, opening the camera of his phone to check what she was pertaining to. He groaned. “Fuck, my sister would kill me.”

He had never really been one for sitting behind a desk, despite what his business degree might say about him. Running the gyms from an office had never appealed to him and he liked to think that part of the attraction to his places was the fact that he stopped by at least once a fortnight to pay them attention himself. Doing his rounds he spotted a somewhat familiar man, coming to a stop as he neared him. He had long since learnt that immediately telling people they were wrong never went down well and so instead he posed a question. “You’re looking pretty good there. You want some pointers?”

A year or two? Mason couldn’t remember the last time he stepped foot on an actual gym after all the travelling and partying he’d been doing for the past years though he still made sure to do some light exercising once in a while and that means every two or three months. Still catching his breath from doing some cardio exercises which he shouldn’t have pushed himself hard, so now he was doing the horizontal seated leg press all wrong that he was aware of. One deep breath before allowing himself to relax for a little when a certain male stood right in front of him. “You don’t have to lie, man. But please do, I think I already forgot how to use gym equipment.” A smile crept to his lips, of course he was here. “So what the hell is new with you?”

“How about I make you a bet?” Jade told the person next to her with a smile. “I bet that I can beat you at that game of darts.” Pointing the to dark board across the way from them. “If I can beat you at it, then drinks are you all night. But if you beat me then well drinks are on me. Unless you have something else you want?” She asked just to make sure that they weren’t wanting something like free food or top shelf liquor. Especially since her credit card was almost at the max as is. “So what do you say? Do we have a deal?’

It had been weeks since the last chaos he got himself into and tonight he was in the mood for another one. With an evil grin appearing on his lips as he leaned back on the bar counter, the male nodded as an agreement. “How can you be so sure that you can beat in a game of darts?” He inquired, finishing up his first glass of scotch for the night. “Do you think that I don’t know how to play?” There was a bit of arrogance in his tone just so he could intimidate the other when in reality he wasn’t really good at that game. “Let’s turn up the game, three shots of tequila first before the start of the game. Deal?”

Knowing Mason for as long as she did, Sam knew that his behavior was something that wasn’t going to change so soon, and now after his parents accident a couple of years ago, Sam knew things would only get worse. He felt like he lost those that would only support him in life, but it wasn’t true. Sam was still there, standing by his side over all of his shenanigans and would still be there, even if he was able to make her go absolutely nuts sometimes. This wasn’t the first time they did this, and probably wouldn’t be the last, so she already knew how this things worked. He would come out of that room saying some funny comment and they would continue with it back and forth until he would tell whatever he got himself into the night before and things would go back to normal, but what Mason said next, completely got her off guard.

“What?” Sam asked, surprised. Eyes wide as she stopped what she was doing, taking a sit in front of the table next to Mason. “What is going on, Mason? I thought you were okay?” she asked, a small frown on her face as she didn’t know what to do. Should she reach out for him or just stay where she was? “What do you mean you have no reason to be here anymore? My life is way better here because I have you. What will I do without you to keep me in place?”

“What is going on, Mason? I thought you were okay?” 

Was he really okay for the past years? The truth was, he had never been. The death of both his parents made a huge impact on him, it was hard and devastating although he never bothered to let anyone know. Drinking and being away was his own little way to keep his sanity intact from all the unpleasant things that happened to him. He wanted to reach out to his siblings, ask for help but he didn't think they would care, given their busy schedule as they all helped in taking over the business. As for his cousin, multiple times he wanted to say what he really felt with his situation yet he would always back out because he knew that she has a problem of her own to deal with and taking care of him while a drunken mess was already a big help.

Eyes flickering down to his hands, can’t barely face his cousin with her question. Is this the right time to tell her the truth? Few minutes had passed before his lips started to part ways. “I-it’s nothing, Sam. Just i-ignore everything I said earlier. I was just messing with you.” Blinking the tears away while forcing up a small smile, he couldn’t make her worried. Maybe it was better for him to hide his emotion. “So.... Shall we have our breakfast? And promise me you wouldn’t tell grandma about last night.” 

Brooke spent some time tidying up her place when she heard a knock on the door. It was Mason. She wasn’t sure how the day was going to go. While it pained her to do this, it needed to be done. Besides the face that he felt like a different person than who she knew, it was only right that he got what was rightfully his. She placed her memory box back on the coffee table before walking to the door.She took a deep breath before opening the door, instantly stepping aside for him. “Hey, come on in.”

Reconnecting again with his ex-girlfriend did quite good for him as if a thorn was pulled out from his chest,  knowing that there was another person who he could run to when things got difficult again. Yes, his family was there but they both know that it wasn’t the same like they were little kids. They drifted apart. A light knock surrounded her place as he took a deep breath and within a few seconds the door opened, unveiling the person he longed for again. “Hey.” a soft kiss on the cheek was placed before letting himself inside the house. “It’s good to see you again, Brooke. So... What’s the thing you want to give? Or should we get some dinner first?”

Brooke: Okay tomorrow then.

Brooke: Yeah that works.

Brooke: I'm sure. You deserve to have it more than I do anyway.

Mason: Alright, see you tomorrow then.

Mason would kill her with worry one of those days. The blonde knew her cousin was a bit too reckless and a rebel sometimes, but she hoped with everything that happened in the past years that he would learn how to behave and not be too selfish about some of the life choices he was making. Even though most of the times she wanted to simply kill him for them, she would never abandon Mason when he needed people the most. She knew how their family could be cruel when it came to that and the last thing she wanted was for her cousin to feel the same things she felt when she decided to trace her own path.

Sam lost count how many times he showed up the state he did the night before, completely wasted, leaving her with only her imagination as to what his whereabouts were. Already used to how it was, the blonde let her cousin in, dragging him to her spare bedroom and letting him sleep off the drunkenness.

“Mason, come on. I made you something to eat, you better get your ass down here or else I’m calling Nana!” the blonde said, knowing there was no other way to make him move than threatening him with the one person he truly feared the most.

Hangover. It was not like he wasn’t expecting it to feel after having plenty of drinks the night before. He knew the consequence yet still did what he did because all he wanted was to have fun and forget that the following day was the birthday of the first woman he ever loved-- his mother. The person who can understand all his mischief but still loves him unconditionally, who will stay by his side even though their whole family was against his childish behavior. Why did she have to be taken from him so early? 

It was almost an hour passed when he flickered his eyes open after such a nightmare. In his dream, the male was again standing against his parents’ grave as they were being rolled down in their final resting place before walking away, and couldn't bear to watch the sight. He can’t accept it. He just can’t. With his cousin’s voice, Mason climbed off bed not because he was afraid of her threat but wasn’t in the mood to argue with her. Not today. Grabbing a bottle of water on her fridge, he quietly sat down on the kitchen counter before blurting out the words she probably didn’t expect. “I don’t want to stay here anymore, Sam.” He muttered softly, shaking his head gently. “There’s no reason for me to be here in London.”

As if he had to ask her twice. She almost instantly recognised Mason and her escape to the entire situation was obvious to her. “Yes, please.” The man grumbled as he watched her get in the car. At least he didn’t feel the need to yank her away, so she had that going for her. Once she was in the car with the door locked did she feel completely safe, looking through the back window to see the man walk away. “Man.. Why are men such assholes.” She huffed, turning her gaze to Mason. “All men besides from you, I mean.. And my dad.” She corrected herself, before reaching out and placing both hands against his arm. “You’re the best, Mason. Thank you.” 

Until now, he couldn’t understand why men can’t respect women. Did they not learn anything from their parents? Did they not think what if something like this happened to their sibling? With one final glare at the other male, Mason drove his car away while still pissed of what happened as he almost glared at his friend too if she didn’t correct her statement. “Good, I almost thought you think I’m an arse too.” He said, playfully rolling his eyes before chuckling softly. “You’re welcome. Good thing I passed by you or we don’t know what that ass will do to you so, next time if you’re going home late... text me if you need a lift. I honestly don’t mind.”

Brooke: Same here

Brooke: Um yeah I guess.

Brooke: Although if we're going to just be friends then I think we should find a time to meet up because I found something of yours with my stuff the other day and I don't feel right about keeping it.

Mason: I'm free tomorrow night? I just need to finish some stuff for my sister.

Mason: I'll drop by your place after?

Brooke: Yeah it was nice seeing you too. I hope you had fun at the party.

Brooke: I missed you too.

Mason: I did, because of you.

Belle: Of course I do, is he around too?

Belle: That's what you deserve for calling me a beast

Mason: He is, and you're texting him already.

Brooke: Hey

Brooke: I did yeah, thanks.

Brooke: I figured as much.

Mason: That's good to hear.

The bar was slow that night, and not for the first time EJ wondered why he’d been called in. Not that he minded a few spare pounds, of course, and his nightly locale was one of his favorites to work. Good location, fun enough clientele - he’d seen much worse. Truth be told, he’d spent more of his shift flirting than actually working, but oh well - brought in some good tips for him, sold more drinks for the owners. Grinning cheekily at the girl who’d just ordered a round of shots - “pour one for yourself, while you’re at it” - he raised the glass in cheers. “I really shouldn’t. What would my boss say?” he asked, feigning horror. With a glance around the premises, he made eye contact with someone a few seats away. “You won’t tell on me, will you?”

With few connections around the city, you’ll find the best pub without people knowing who you are or where you came from just having a quiet drink on the corner; no paparazzi taking your photo that may end up on his sister’s home office the next day. And Elijah was his few trusted people about partying. He was on his second beer when he couldn’t help but to shake his head with the way he watched EJ flirting with his client. I can’t believe he’s doing it again. At his question, an evil grin surfaced his lips, “Only if you bribe with the right thing then I might not tell you to your boss.”

Mason: Hey?

Mason: I don't know if this is still your number but I just wanna check in if you got home safely after the party?

[two minutes after]

Mason: Knock knock

Mason: Is the beast around?

“I honestly have no idea what happened.” Noah answered, looking down at his feet, where one shoe was missing.” This guy just tackled me out of nowhere and he stole. My. Shoe.” London was insane, that was for sure. Why just the one? Did the guy have a right shoe fetish? “Do I look like a freak or would you throw a couple of pence at me when passing by?” 

The Knight was biting his lips the whole that the other male was speaking, trying his best not to laugh out loud with his misfortune. Who in their right mind would steal a shoe? Yes, a shoe. “I have no idea either why he did what he did. A prank perhaps?” A suggestion which may oddly be right while still giving a polite smile. “Your clothing doesn’t look like you’re a freak so I’ll probably think you’re drunk that you forgot it somewhere, sir.”
