There is no denying the wild horses in us

My sister flies into Vegas in a week. With how busy I’ve been since moving here I never did learn much of the places worth visiting. Any recommendations are appreciated. Truly.

Sister you say? I can work as a tour guide for her, this way you won’t have a worry on your mind at all, my friend.

“I completely agree,” Faye nodded, “people can’t expect just to have things because they have complimenting features, too many times people do this to get what they want and it needs to at least slow down, because those who do it expect it work, when it’s not always the case,” she explained.

“Exactly my point. You shouldn’t expect to get something just for the sake of getting it, not to mention it is when people start to take advantage of things. You have to earn it, to not have things done way too easy or else life will just get too boring.”

“I don’t remember ever getting anything because I was pretty…” Jenn trailed off, thinking on her past actions, before taking a glance at the male. “But I’ve known enough people who have, and I have to say…. You’re right. Not exactly right that people get away with that kind of thing.”

Edward just looked at the girl, head slightly tilting to the side as he considered her words. “You might not have known, but I am sure it happened at least once in your life.” In a way, Edward was paying the girl some form of compliment, even if he didn’t put it into words. “I never said it was right or wrong, I was only saying it happens.”

Another laugh followed and Landon leaned in and planted his chin atop of his steepled fingers. Clear Edward is one to give the best pointers when it comes to these matters. His last relationship ended with betrayal and heartbreak and this current one with Darcy, as casual as it is, left Landon in a place where he’s considered the next step. Was he ready to be exclusive with someone again? “That’s where you got me, my man. Me and the chase? Never been that great with it. What if I’m seeing someone now? We’re not exclusive by any means. I don’t know if she sees other people. I haven’t asked. I imagine the chase is too late with regards to that? Fairly certain she knows I like her.” This brought Landon to a youthful mindset, reminding him of the years before he and Vanessa met. Before she ruined his trust.

Landon was completely different than he, while Edward was a man that loved to live his pleasures, Landon seemed like the type of guy to stick to one person only and his words only confirmed what he was already suspecting. “My man, are you telling me you are already hitched like that? She might not be thinking of that, but you for certain are.” He teased, a small smirk appearing on his features. “You want to go steady with her, don’t you?”

Did he give the waitress a cursory glance as she walked past them that moment? Perhaps. But that’s all it was: a glance. “Too in the face you say?” His fingers touched his near empty drink–scotch, neat; and said, “What would you do in order to get someone to take notice?” Landon’s not interested in a pursuit. He has a good thing going with Darcy. They’re not an item but that doesn’t mean he should fool around with others. It doesn’t suit him.

Sometimes Edward wondered if Landon indeed knew what he was doing when ti came down to flirt with the ladies. He knew his friend could do better than just this. “Please, you are starting to embarrass me with this techniques of yours.” The man teased his friend, shaking his head with a wide grin on his face. “It is all about the chase, my friend. You can let them know you are interested in the first place.”

“Bah, I doubt it. Now, if one of these-” he picked on from the palm of his hand and turned it around slowly in front of his sparkling blue eyes, “happened to have a phone number or some way of contacting her on it. Now that’d be clear indication she’s flirting. Outside of that?” he worked the foil off and popped the chocolate mint into his mouth, “Mere friendliness.”

Edward just grinned, shaking his head slightly at Landon’s words, finding amusement in his line of thought. “Now that would be too in the face,” he said leaning back on his chair as he took a sip of his drink. Whiskey on the rocks. “She’s been eyeing you the whole night, she is kind of cute. I think she is worth the trouble.”

With an amused laugh, boistrous and jovial, Landon leaned back and gave Edward a flashy smile. “That may be true however I one cannot get by with one complimentary mint. Especially a man of my proportion.” He said as he offered a handful of mints the waitress left on their table.

Edward just shook his head knowing that this was a lost argument with his friend. “You know this is her probably trying to flirt with you right? I don’t see her giving others the mint like this.”
