Grafike s izložbe: „Stara sveučilišna” . Volim stare knjižnice. Na primjer, onu na Starčevićevom trgu. Svoje smo studentske dane na Akademiji, u vrijeme ispitnih rokova, proveli učeći u njenoj čitaonici na drugom katu. Još su mi od djetinjstva pričali roditelji kako se nekad tako moglo čitati i učiti i u Staroj sveučilišnoj. Svatko osvjetljen svjetlom svoje secesijske lampe. Pričali su mi i o velikim sovama na krovu i o secesijskoj unutrašnjosti. I o tome kako je, sve u svemu, taj arhitekt Lubinsky bio sjajan momak. Danas je knjižnica Državni arhiv i može se posjetiti samo uz najavu ili kad je u njoj neko događanje. . . Prints from the exhibition: "Old University Library" . I love the old libraries. There are a few of these in the center of my hometown, Zagreb. Back in the day, when we were still students at the Academy, we used to go to one of them to study during our exam periods. You used to be able to come, sit and read like that in the Old University Library, as well. As my parents had been telling me ever since I was a child, you could have come there and spent some time reading in the light of your secession lamp. My parents also told me stories about its secession interior, the large statues of owls that decorate the library’s roof, and how its architect, Rudolf Lubinsky, was truly great. Grafike s izložbe: „Skopje” . Prije nekoliko godina putovali smo u Makedoniju. Vidjeli smo Tetovo, obišli Ohrid i vidjeli prekrasan pogled s impozantnog brda, Popove Šapke. No, pri mom izboru najfascinantnijeg prizora sa putovanja, ipak je prvu nagradu odnijelo Skopje. Tu smo vidjeli gomilu betonskih zgrada izgrađenih šezdesetih godina i veliki broj predimenzioniranih skulptura. I ulični antikvarijat. Jer, na štandu nalik onima na kojima se u Zagrebu prodaje voće i povrće, u Skopju su se prodavale rabljene knjige. Fascinirala me količina romana, enciklopedija i starih stripova koje su, zaštićene plastičnom ceradom, bile naslagane na ogromnu hrpu. I sve to na punktu na kakvom bi se, kod nas, prodavale mandarine iz Opuzena. . . Prints from the exhibition: "Skopje " . A few years ago, we were traveling through Macedonia. We saw Tetovo, visited Ohrid, and saw the magnificent view from the top of an impressive hill, Popova Šapka. However, I thought about which scene from the trip was the most fascinating, and Skopje took the first prize. In Skopje, we saw a lot of concrete buildings built in the sixties and a large number of oversized sculptures. And an antique shop on the street. At a stand similar to the ones where, in Zagreb, people sell fruits and vegetables, in Skopje, they were selling used books. I was fascinated by the number of novels, encyclopedias, and old comics stacked in a huge pile and protected by a plastic tarp. "Home", an original print collage with some of the tools for scale. This was a prompt by @mollylemonart ✂️ I began this collage by cutting my cine collé version of the "Oxford" print, because the house that I drew for that linocut always seemed so homey and warm. The smoke coming out of the chimney is mostly made out of my "Castanets" linocut prints. And I guess this cold winter is to blame for including heating in my home-themed collage. But it could be that the colors of the smoke and a chimney that I look at every day also have something to do with it.
