These were executed casually – ink brushed loosely onto a plastic plate, working from quick drawings. Then I scraped into the sticky ink with a disposable chopstick (mostly the ragged broken-apart end), and wiped marks with a cotton bud and a rag. And they were printed on cartridge paper, not the Japanese paper I prefer. I suspect their energy comes from the fact that I wasn’t nervous about spoiling expensive paper.

Baby Tea Bag Dress for today’s Sunday stroll
"Eartha Kitt" 24 " x 24" I made her slightly more optimistic, happy and fulfilled than the original photo of her back then. Not to minimize anything she ever experienced, but to acknowledge her spirit and the audacious activist that she would later become. The Audacity of Hope.
