I seriously cant stand people who blame Hachi for what happens to her. Like yes she made some bad choices, but I swear some people lean to heavily into victim blaming. She was groomed when she was a teenager by a much older man, and canonically a rape victim. She doesn't feel like she is deserving of love. She's been through so much. It's Off Topic Tuesday so that means I have free license to gripe about something not blog theme, and this time about how grown adults talk about child characters in Avatar: The Least Airbender, and more specifically Katara.

It's really weird how much I see adult men in their 30's and beyond go on social media to talk about how much they hate Katara, how Katara is so annoying, all Katara does is whine about her dead mother, Katara is too overbearing, etc.

Brother, that is a 14 year old child.

A 14 year old girl, with a dead mother *and* an absent father, whose people are the victims of genocide, and who has been forced by circumstances into being a child soldier. And as a 34 year old adult man you want to go on social media and complain about how much you hate the (fictional!) 14 year old child soldier because she talks too much about her dead mother and that annoys you 🤨

The "you didn't love our mother the way I did" line to Sokka was crossing a line, but again, she was a *14 year old child*. Not a grown woman. A little girl. Children, especially dealing with grief and trauma, are going to say things out of line. Adults should explain why saying things like that are out of line, however, more importantly check-in with kids who are lashing out like that, because that's a sign that they're not okay and probably need support.

Just bizarre to me how much adult men on the internet love to get angry that a fictional 14 year old child doesn't behave and hold herself together as well as an adult might. Why are so many adult men forgetting she's a child and holding her behavioral standards to that of a grown woman anyway 🤔

it actually HURTS more than biting your tongue mid-sentence whenever I see Spidey or Torch paired off with their comic love interests. like yeah, i get it, canon and all that… but it never feels right. like, they keep circling back to each other.

all the banter, the trust, the care, the constant showing up in each other’s lives, that’s the real love story. no matter who they date, it always reads like placeholders IMO. they don’t just work as a duo. they literally belong to each other.

it SUCKS that their love is something that isn’t allowed to be named, but never shuts up either.

jjk fanfics on Tumblr are so insane to read sometimes. WHO are these people??? Did we read the same manga? Did we watch the same anime? writers don't even tag most of these as ooc even though the characters act nothing like the actual ones The only characters without much change happen to be villains (Kenjaku, Mahito, Naoya, NOT SUKUNA)

You might as well say it's your oc who happens to look like jjk men with the amount of mischaracterization you put into it
