Red-Buttocked Horse-Monkey [Chikao mahou, 赤尻馬猴]

The Monkey King made the four old monkeys mighty commanders of his troops by appointing the two horse-monkeys with red buttocks [赤尻馬猴] as Marshals Ma [馬] and Liu [流], and the two long-armed gibbons as Generals Beng [崩] and Ba [芭]

Placing her cheek against the table after a long day of work, Maya looked at Alkebu-lan and began to hum.

The latter was preoccupying herself with creating potions, as was her wont when lingering amidst Maya's place. This process contained an unusual flair though, with items floating amidst air as magical dust flittered about like butterflies. It was a sight vet had gotten used to, amidst all other chaotic things in her life. After a moment of silence, mortal lifted her head, with a curious look.

"Say, Alkebu-lan?"

White-haired woman bent back to look at Maya with an innocent glance.

"We have known each other for a few years now, but I have not so much as heard a peep out of you as to when your birthday is."

"Oh." Alkebu-lan flipped over and placed chin in hand with a smile. "I do not have one~" Came her unabashed answer.

Silence.

"A-are you joshing me? How do you not have a birth date!?"

A shrug was performed, by the shape-shifter. "Eh, I never really paid attention to the date. Plus with all the shifts in celestial bodies and you humans making new ways to label the passage of time, it seemed pointless."

"This will not do."

Alkebu-lan raised an eyebrow at the vet, noticing her flattening hands against table. As Maya lifted her head, she stared at immortal with determination in her eyes. "You need to pick a date then, because I can hardly call myself a friend if I didn't celebrate it at least once!"

With this declaration, shape-shifter found her countenance softening. "Ha, you humans are quite complex at times." Alkebu-lan then crossed legs in thought, as she sat on table. Tapping her cheek, a hum sprung into the air. "If you are so intent on it, I suppose we can do something on the twenty-fifth of this month."

Maya tilted her head. "Why that date- wait a minute..."

Alkebu-lan nodded. "Indeed! It is the day we first met!" When she started interacting with humanity, again.

"Would that not be more of an anniversary, then a birthday?"

"You asked for it, I gave you my answer~"

"HOW!? If im outside for another minute I might melt!" Dramatic student is dramatic
