Hello! I admire your faceup work, you've got a beautiful style! I saw that you use the airbrush sealing method, and I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm still paranoid about using Mr. Super Clear even though I use a mask, and I'd like to avoid putting others at risk. I've never used an airbrush before, but I'd love to learn. Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper airbrush? And does any matte medium work? What kind of mask do you need for this method? Thanks so much!
Thank you so much! ❤ Yes, I’ve used the airbrush sealing method for a few years now and I highly recommend it for quality and safety. You can totally learn how to use an airbrush! There are so many maintenance videos out there.
I used to use a cheaper Master airbrush I got on Amazon. I believe you can also buy a whole Master airbrush and compressor kit for pretty cheap. I currently use an Iwata Eclipse and really like the quality for all the taking it apart you have to do.
I believe most faceup artists use either Liquitex Matte Medium and then finish with the Matte Varnish or Vallejo Matte. I use Vallejo and it’s amazing. You only need to use 5-7 drops for each spray too, so quite affordable. Despite these options being non-toxic, you’ll still need a respirator for safety since the vapor is so fine.
Hope that’s helpful, and good luck on your airbrush quest! 👍
