The Piglins make a push, and the Raiders fire back.

Side notes: The Bastion that the Raiders took over is the Bridge Bastion. Witches tend to carry gunpower with them to use for splash potions, and firework rockets are crafted from paper and gunpowder.

i always got the vibe that polly thinks nil doesn't want them to (or would generally doubt themself too much to try), and nil doesn't want to make the first move. neither of them seems like they would (~romantically~ or otherwise). maybe they would do that sharkboy and lavagirl thing where they hold one finger instead of hands lmao (i'm going crazy)

then i remembered i can just... ask. (and while i'm here thank you so much for sharing this story i for one couldnt be more pleased that i've been here to see it develop from the start, each update gives me butterflies like it's a high school crush and your storytelling makes me insane every time)

As they travel together more and more... they become quite used to and casual about touch!

In the beginning, Polly was much more reserved yes, they used to tip toe around Nil cuz they didn't wanna scare the villager. This actually kind of annoyed Nil who, at the time, was stuck between wanting to be treated normally, while also still being wary of Polly... while also admitting that they are quite scared.

It's after their first adventure they became more trusting, and then after the swamp arc (and pale garden adventure) that they became more physically trusting too.

Helping Polly with their injury and dragging their limp body around broke down those barriers, and they realised they're much better closer together. Not before they bonded a bit emotionally and processed things of course. After that, they became quite casual with one another physically.

They'd huddle for warmth, swim in a lake together and wake up tangled with eachother. Turns out when almost everything around you tries to kill you, being held by something that doesn't do that is quite nice.

anyways, i’ve gotta ask — what would they do for fun (or in their free time) now that they’re with polly??? what might the two do together for fun too haha

Now, as they travel together... they do whatever the land ahead of them prompts them to.

Nil still carves pumpkins, but after Polly taught them to craft basic items- they began trying out wood or even stone carving. Polly follows suit (and sometimes uses their teeth to do it).

Nil has taught Polly the art of cloud watching, meanwhile Polly has taught Nil to orientate themselves using the stars in the night sky. They usually just end up stargazing.

Polly told Nil about songs or shanties the Pillagers would sing during patrol, and the two try to make their own new ones. They forget most of them the next day, and start again.

Nil began enjoying picking flowers. Polly taught them to make stews out of them, and Nil has had the idea to experiment with recipes more. Of course, not all the recipes end well-

Nil is still waiting for when they find the fabled Mushroom Island that Polly promised them, they want to see if it's really possible to get stew from a cow...

I imagine Nil also makes it a point to plant pumpkins everywhere. They always carry a handful of seeds from carving so many, and they find places to plant more. Spread the pumpkins.

They go for swims regularly whenever they find a safe lake or river.

Once they came across a shipwreck, that was poking out of the ocean and close to shore, so they were able to explore it.

So far it seems that Polly is an open book about her life and experiences as an Illager, but are there any aspects of Illager custom that Polly has keep secret from Nil?

Yes, Polly tends to be an open book... and that's on purpose, she wants to atone for her sins by being honest, and not hiding anything from Nil to gain Nil's trust.
