truly mystified by what people perceive to be blonde hair. if that shit is not light and very yellow how is it not fucking brown hair. I know a lot of people who were blonde as children continue to identify as such as they get older because of like white supremacy making being blonde feel more desirable than the alternative or something but this is crazy

this is so fascinating to me bc actually i have always felt that the desire to define “blond” as extremely narrow and only applying to people with bright whitish yellow hair was a hand-me-down of white supremacy. like, why does blonde get to be some ideal color that ppl strive so hard for and then brunette is like a massive group that basically anybody else will fall into. also ppl with a really narrow definition of blond will often say a bunchh of ppl with dark hair have “black” hair even if it is really quite brown. idk ig to me it’s about the hue of the hair not the shade. like if your hair is kind of yellowish, even a very dark yellow, to me that would be blond. and if it’s brown, even a light brown, that would be brunette. but then I am one of these people who was blonde as a child but now says I’m brunette bc that seems to be what ppl think so mb I’m biased
