Ahem, I’ve forgotten to upload my graduation short - for about 3,5 years now. But yeah, here it is; Dubium! It’s a short film about a young man who is insecure and lovestruck, a fear-inducing combination. However, his fear might be simply a matter of perspective...

Watched the awesome movie ‘You are Umasou’ yesterday. Just great! If you haven’t watched it yet, go do it.

It’s been ages since I have drawn anything non-work related, and after finishing a short (but work intense) assignment I figured to finally try and play the Witcher 3. Oh my, the game is awesome, had to make a sketch related to it. In this case it is Geralt showing the first ‘boss’ of the game, a Royal Griffin, the label Witcher isn’t for show. Time to wander to the next area! ...also, I noticed when I was about done that I’d apparently switched brushes halfway, which explains why I couldn’t draw the same lines as before all of a sudden, argh!

Hi there, finally, here's the trailer to my graduation film 'Dubium'. The movie is complete, but I can't show it in it's entirety yet, since some animation festivals don't accept films which are already posted online. I hope you'll like it, and of course makes you want to see the whole thing - which will be posted online for sure, though I don't know when. The music and sounddesign for the short were made by the awesome Tom Bosselaar.

So yeah, here's the (low-res low-fps) intro of my graduation film 'Dubium', which is about a insecure young man who feels really small in comparison to others. The film itself is done, so now I only have to wait for my (awesome) music dude to finish his (awesome) music and sounddesign. Which is awesome. Yeah! So now I'm off to prepare for my final exam presentation (and to continue writing my thesis... writing a theses whilst creating a animated film is waaay to much work.). Wish me luck!

And then there was this bloody thing to animate for my graduation film... Looking at it now, it doesn't look that impressive, but I found it quite hard to animate. First of all, drawing walkcycles isn't really my forte. Nor is drawing women. Then there was the slight rotation, and finally I had to draw her doing that slight rotating walkcycle while she is (literally) growing and going into perspective. But I'm finally done... with the roughs. Yeah. Luckily it's completely on triples. Btw, what you're looking at here is the woman the main character 'chases' after to try and get rid of his anxiety. Thank you for looking at it!

So here are some of the clothing and colour tryouts for the main character of my graduation film, 'Dubium'. The final design is a mix between what you see here, though the clothing design is pretty much what the lower four guys are wearing, with practically the same colorscheme as the bottem left. I'll post the final result sometime soon, thanks for watching, looking and reading!

I tend to draw a lot of my characters the same way, and decided to research body types (by blatantly tracing the work of other amazing artists to find out what made their characters to great), and I've learned a great deal from it. Thanks, artists! Next, I'll probably post some clothing and colour tryouts.

Later on, way after my previous post, the design of the film changed radically. Right now, the style is somewhat different from this one, though it still looks more like this than my previous post. The location has changed as well, but I'll post the final design in a few days (while on break from animating, I'm finally in production, yeah!).

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted anything on here. Shame on me. What you see here is on of the first pieces of concept art for my graduation film (working title: 'Dubium'), which is completely different from earlier concepts you might have seen on here. This was made in december I believe, and a lot has changed since then. I'll hope to post some more of my concept art since then, and keep you updated on the progress of the film.
