If you feel like youâve seen this alread, thatâs normal. This list of recommendation has been previously posted on my first account @praestantias which has been deleted for some reasons. So here I am, reposting it.Â
Hating how elitist and eurocentric the dark academia community became, I would truly appreciate that you leave some recommendation of book written by people of color, for I noticed that I am guilty of the eurocentric part, but I am really want to educate myself and read more non-white books.Â
Thank you for your suggestions!

Today, my therapist was talking about how the smallest bits of self-care â even making yourself a mug of warm tea â are a way of recognizing your own worth, and how meaningful they are when you really dislike yourself. âAfter all,â she said, âI donât know about you, but I donât often make tea for people I hate.â
And that really hit me, especially because Iâm an acts-of-service kind of person and tea is one of my go-to ways to show people that Iâm thinking about them, care about them, and hope their day could be a little better. So maybe when I make tea for myself, Iâm saying that to myself, too, that Iâm thinking of my own needs, caring for myself, and trying to make my day a little better.Â
And thatâs really important to me because a lot of days I struggle to do basic things to keep myself going and just feel like Iâm self-destructive, only ever making things worse⊠but most days I still manage to make myself a mug of tea or two. And itâs good to know that that matters.Â

We need a space before ? and ! and . ?? in French? Is it like a rule that exists? that's very weird haha. Thanks for making me aware of it :)
Yeah it's a rule! not for the period though. and not in every French speaking countries â so you might as well keep doing it, as long as you're consistent with it, it's just not France's rules.
In France you put a space before any punctuation sign composed of two parts : ; ! ? « »
â take a space before as well
" ( and [ take a space before as they open the quote/whatever, the closing half doesn't take a space before.
. , ⊠never take a space before
except for the opening "([, there's always a space after the punctuation if you keep writing words.
un exemple improvisĂ© : "Il m'a dit « Je t'aime. » ! Je n'ai pas rĂ©pondu (je suis parti.e en courant, en fait) ; je n'ai jamais su comment rĂ©pondre Ă ce genre de dĂ©clarations â mais qui sait comment y rĂ©pondre ?"
(nobody uses that much punctuation nowadays but at least you've got examples xD)
You're welcome! Have a nice evening ^^
17 October 2020 | The days when Iâm happy about having carpet are few and far between, but today is one of them. Currently sprawled out with too many books open working on the first bit of my Maximus paper. Something that made me even more excited to receive the edition of Disputations with Pyrrhus pictured here is that it was packaged and shipped by one of the hieromonks of the monastery that published the English translation. A text written by a monastic distributed by a monasticâhow very fitting.Â

Hi, I'm Trisha and I'm new to the studyblr community so I love that this challenge is happening right now. I've just started my PhD in Mathematics today! I thought the photographs were a nice way of giving some insight into who I am, a lover of old cafes and a bloody difficult woman.
