For your new non-human F/Os like the robot one and the one from space, how well do they know about human-y things or how long did it take them to learn? Like did you ever show them your favorite food and they were super suspicious about eating it or thought it looked really funny?
Thatās a great question! This was actually in my ask box yesterday but I didnāt come around to answering it because I was busy. But Iāll do so now!
For Artie, the only human thing she learned before she met me was the English language, as we kinda had to learn each otherās languages to be ambassadors, you know? By the way, her English was somehow great when we were first introduced, but I think it was just that she wanted to kinda rebel against the monarchy.
But other than thatā¦sheās still learning. The thing is, though, she rarely gets confused but is more so curious, because her personality is just extremely goofy. She often does things that are completely silly, and I actually have a few art pieces from 2023 that exemplify this. For example,
Her climbing up the forbidden orange stairs in Home Depot despite the signage prohibiting it because she wanted to see what was upstairs.
Me showing her how to eat with a fork and knife, then her eating a burger and fries with them, including cutting up the former into pieces.
Me showing her gummy worms after getting curious about them at a gas station, then a little while later seeing a worm on the ground, picking it up, and eating it.
Me showing her how to use a blender, then using it to eat everything.
Us going to a county fair and her being curious about deep-fried foods (particularly deep-fried Oreos), trying it and loving itā¦and getting sick because she ate so many.
Yeah, sheās definitely a keeper. I havenāt done any art like that since 2023, though, but maybe now that sheās my F/O again Iāll have a few ideas every now and then.
But as for Cassidy, her mind came with a massive database of various subjects, but most of them are from academic textbooks and higher-quality Wikipedia articles. So most of her prerequisite knowledge is in the areas of STEM, medicine, and other things like that, and her knowledge of pop culture, sports, and so on is mostly objective and technical in nature.
So although she often struggles with finding emotional value in things, she is excellent at taking things apart logically. And her database grows and gets better the more she experiences things, so even if she is confused by a new thing sheāll try her best to break it down into bite-sized pieces. This also makes her great at discerning truth from bullshit, as she can easily tell if something doesnāt add up.
Iām still kinda working on the story of how she grew from just being a trusty companion of mine to romantically and genuinely loving me. But she is very much sentient.
So yeah! Happy to answer this.
