adrien and marinette are perfect for each other because they're both obsessive weirdos, except that marinette is flustered because she perceives adrien as perfect and therefore unattainable, so she's ashamed of how weird she is, while adrien lets his dorky side out as chat noir, but he exaggerates his behaviour because of social awkwardness, so his weirdness turns into a caricature instead.
chat noir telling marinette that he likes hamsters, too, when she admitted to her fantasies and how they stunt her actions in reality, was everything. i'm soft about how adrien is so sweet and non-judgemental that he's the one person who has never laughed at her social ineptitude, has validated her anxious spirals instead of dismissing them as ridiculous, and has patiently listened to her when she messes up her words. the only time he has ever interrupted her was when he thought she was underestimating or being unkind to herself. goddamn it, luka made fun of her stuttering when they met. in comparison, you can totally tell that chat noir thought marinette's 'i have three suns' confession to be a little ridiculous, but he was nothing but supportive.
the things marinette perceives as her flaws are the things adrien likes about her, or even has in common. he didn't think that her fantasies are stupid. i'm just... glad that he doesn't dismiss marinette's feelings and ideas and takes them so seriously, when both the show and the fandom haven't done that.
