Watching the final season of the bear and I do appreciate how they capture this intense need for violent vindication that survivors of familial abuse can often experience. Natalie telling Carmy that she wants their mother to do something horrid as a confirmation that she was undeniably abusive and as an (implied) guilt free way to fight her. The following (mostly) play-fighting over who had it worse.
I'm still not fond of Donna's character direction, but this is just such a viscerally real aspect of the every day life after abuse.
