And when someone who is "TME" is a victim of transmisogyny they just claim "oh that was misdirected"

It happened in broad daylight. It was telegraphed ahead of time; TERFs were very clear they wanted trans men removed from public life entirely. Yet during the entire lead-up, and even since then, people have erased transmascs completely from the conversation, saying they weren't in danger like transfemmes are, and in fact alleging that transmascs enjoyed a measure of protection from TERFs, who allegedly just see them as confused little girls they want to protect.

And while people were busy being useful idiots and spreading TERF propaganda for them, while people were busy actively denying the threat to transmascs, TERFs made it so transmascs can be excluded from any public bathroom in the UK.

Today marks the three year anniversary of the death of Morgan Moore, a teenage disabled black trans boy from Maryland, due to criminal neglect from his parents.

He died at age 17 — far too young for anyone, much more when it comes to cases like these when life is cut short due to abuse and incompetence. The people who knew him remember him as a kind and talented soul, and he is missed by many.

We cannot allow that to happen anymore. These deaths came from hatred and forgetting their names is only contributing to that hatred continuing to exist.

Remember them, and remember that every day that you as a trans person (and even moreso if you are a trans person of colour) live, you are committing an act of resistance. I know this is corny and overstated; but truly, your existence is resistance.

This is not the usual kind of thing I post to my tumblr. I’m writing this at the behest of OJ (@eternity-braid​), because I said some things to her and she decided that they were apparently insightful things that she wanted to share with others, and she wanted me to put them in a place where she could link to them rather than re-explaining the whole thing every time, so here it is.

As you might infer from the title, this post is about a dichotomy in worldview that I’ve generalized after reading this bit of short fiction by Jenna Moran (who is a really good and clever and unique writer who you should check out). For the most part, I expect that those for whom this material is relevant will already know all about Hitherby Dragons and Jenna, so I’ll omit explaining it.

(This also makes my job here a lot easier, because explaining Hitherby Dragons as a creative work is extremely difficult, in much the same way that it’s kind of hard to explain the appeal of something like Homestuck to someone who doesn’t know anything about it. The two don’t have any real similarity in execution or theme, but they’re both transformative works that defy easy compartmentalization into tropes and genre boxes.)

look into the bills passing in mexico and germany!

pay attention to vpn bans and research controversial legislation passing in your country or state!

fight back and fight back hard.

call, email, and fax reps and legislators.

And it just read like a parent telling you that your pet didn't die they went to a beautiful farm with lots of other soft cuddly kittens.

Like no, the reason why there was a lack of trans men is because they got put in 'crazy woman' facilities, got married off young to abusive husbands, got lobotomies, never had a chance to exist in public life as anything but an extension of their husbands, were drugged into submission, usually unable to legally leave even if they somehow got the money while being unable to work or have a bank account.
