I swear to all fuck if Cait calls Vi "Violet" in the finale I'll pulverize on the spot
I love arcane relationships because it’s deadass the most beautifully tragic rollercoaster of emotions lesbianism and two men who are suicidal (and one of them has a gf)
As an arcane fan I am utterly baffled by the hate for the show and main characters right now. Is it just me?
Like, dudes. It's Arcane. This isn't a show about good guys and bad guys. It's a show about morally grey characters and how good people can do terrible things. And how bad people can do good things.
It's nuanced, like real life. We are supposed to watch these characters and understand why they are making the decisions they are making. Not necessarily agree with them. But understand why they did it and possibly empathize with them.
If you can't handle that or that isn't your cup of tea. Then don't watch it.
And remember. Before you cast judgment on not knowing something about a situation or a character, the show isn't over yet. Complain about the writing on Sunday after it's over.

Vi gave Caitlyn her rifle back
We as a society have not appropriately acknowledged that after picking up her gf's purse (gun) from Ambessa's tent, very sexily might I add, Vi just gave it back to Caitlyn between when she hugged her family and when they all ran out to see what the cultist screaming was about. She gave Cait her rifle despite Jinx being right there, and nothing happened. Granted, they had bigger fish to fry, but still. Vi just instinctively trusted her like that and Caitlyn didn't take the opportunity to shoot Jinx despite clearly still hating her. My prediction for act 3 is that after the explosion, Caitlyn won't make any attempts on Jinx's life (if she does she'll have a dramatic moment where she finally puts it past her and chooses not to go through with it). I think she's realized it won't change anything (after Jinx saved her from Rictus and humanized herself by being with Isha, Vander & Vi in that warm family reunion). As we saw in season 1, Caitlyn is very much aware of the cycle of violence in Piltover/Zaun. She was just blinded by rage after her mother's death. There's a difference between that and forgiveness though. I highly doubt Caitlyn be amicable with Jinx any time soon. (though depending on what happens she might begrudgingly accept her help in the war against Noxus)

I think part of Vi’s journey in Arcane is seeing her family the way they truly are and coming to accept them for who they are, blisters and bruises and all.
Vi sees her dad Vander as this pillar of strength and resolve and ideals. But deep down inside he’s got a monster that can come raging out at any time. Silco knows this first hand, but Vi doesn’t. That’s why she’s so terrified when Vander hulks out at the beginning of Season 1. For the first time she saw the monster that Vander could become.
And it takes until Season 2 for her to accept this aspect of him. To know that despite the fact he has this terrible beast inside (now literally) she can still love and appreciate him with warmth and kindness.
Same for Jinx. She only saw Jinx as powder. Even when Powder changed and became Jinx, Vi didn’t want to see this. She deluded herself into thinking Powder could come back and they’d be rid of Jinx. She literally tells Silco that she wants to tear out the “brainwashing” she thinks Silco did to her to turn her into Jinx. But at the end of the day, Jinx isn’t brainwashed. Vi can’t change Jinx back into Powder. But coincidentally, Powder also isn’t gone either. They both exist inside her. She is both Jinx AND Powder. And by the end of Act 2 of season 2 I think Vi has come to accept that.
Like look at this picture. Vi is here, standing with her monster of a dad, and her sister who has split personalities in both Jinx and Powder (as represented by Isha). But she’s not scared of either of them anymore. She’s content. Happy. She can accept them for who they are now.
There’s a lot more too. I think Vi seeing Caitlyn for who she truly is (a privileged rich girl who has deeply ingrained privileges and sense of superiority). Like Vi starts seeing Caitlyn as just another enforcer, but gradually over the course of season 1 and beginning of season 2 she learns that Caitlyn has a kind heart and maybe she could be one of the exceptions. But Caitlyn does still have this ugly side of privileged that clouds her judgement and causes her to do terrible things. And Vi doesn’t want to see that at first. That’s why she goes along with the enforcer role even though it’s a betrayal of everything she believes in. She’s so desperate to not see the terrible things Caitlyn is able to. But again, by the end of Act 2, I think she’s come to accept that’s a part of her. And despite the fact that Caitlyn has done terrible things, I think deep down she still loves her. And I think this weekend we will see her hold Caitlyn accountable for it.
Either way, I think it’s fascinating how much that picture encompasses all of the things Vi has tried to deny existed in the family she grew up with, but now she’s accepting them for who they are no matter how monstrous and crazy they might be.
ARCANE SEASON 2 ACT 2 SPOILERS!!!
Caitlyn, after the breakup: guess I need to fully immerse myself into the dictator lifestyle because the loml left me. Not too sure what Maddie's doing trying to get me to stop tbh I love being a dictator
Vi, after literal months of not seeing or speaking to Caitlyn: cupca-
Caitlyn, pulling out maps, artifacts, weapons and explaining a detailed plan on how to take Ambessa down: well I better change my ways and be a better person. Gotta right my wrongs and all that. Let me know if there's anything else you want. My money, my house, my blood, really everything of mine is yours Vi
Vi:......girl I didn't even ask you a singular question-
Caitlyn: you didn't need to, I have all the answers. Anyways, I was thinking a spring wedding will work well for us. Also, for the infiltration part of the plan, you're going to need to spit on my face
Vi: okay is me spitting on you really nece-
Caitlyn: it is 100% necessary.
