“Very mad,” she agreed, glancing at the man who’d responded before her eyes found the aforementioned blonde boy again. “— Wait, what do you mean by redness? You saw something?” Mary wrinkled her nose, hoping he didn’t mean blood.

“I didn’t see much,” Steven admitted with a shrug. “Although it’s hard to, ‘innit? When you don’t understand what you’re lookin’ at. Must of been one of them people with the superpowers and — what not. Like a bloody comic book villain. It was all… red wiggly woos, in the air. On the boy, then round the house, right before it when all went kaboom. S’all a bit mental, if you ask me. ‘Might just carry on to work and pretend it never happened.”

I told you that was rude. See, now you’ve pissed him right off. Let me talk to him, Marc. Marc sighed, ignoring Steven as best he could, trying to maintain focus on the man in front of him. As soon as the music cut out, he noticed the shift, wondering if that truly was the cause of his distress. It was an odd correlation, but Marc had seen stranger occurrences in his time here. “Hey, woah — get your hand off me,” he snapped, smacking the man’s hand off his shirt, and putting some distance between them. Marc, he needs help. “Alright. Alright, I can get you out of here. But easy on the physicality, alright?” Marc, I can help him. Give me control of the body. You’re not very nice to strangers. “Steven! Quiet! Wait — who are you telling to shut up? I’m trying to help you, man.”

“Oh wow, what on earth’s happened here?! Is everyone okay?”

“I have no bloody idea. One minute, I’m on a nice quiet stroll. And the next – bam. Redness and little blonde boys flying everywhere. It’s mad, ‘innit?”

“Maybe it’s not so bad,” Eddie muttered to himself, pacing the streets. He was trying to put some distance between him and the party he’d just stumbled upon, one he usually would’ve loved to attend on New Years, but it was as if all the strength had been suddenly zapped from him. “It’s okay, it’s okay. Just gotta get - just want it… off!" He began to shout, unable to control the feeling. "God, Jesus, can somebody just turn that shit off?! I can’t — ”

Bloody hell, he’s had a bit too much, eh? He looks wasted. “Yeah, I know, Steven. Shut up and let me handle it. I’m in control tonight, remember?” Marc spoke, seemingly to himself, before beginning to approach the stranger. Marc had forcibly chosen to host the body this evening, knowing the streets would be lined with drunken enhanced, which he didn’t deem Steven able to handle. They hadn’t ran into any trouble so far, but Marc had a suspicion this might be it, considering the state of the man he’d come across. “You look awful, man. Maybe you should make your way home.” Well that’s a bit rude, maybe he just needs some help.
