background information / the noble and ancient house of kain (more to add, so comeback later!)
The House of Kain is an ancient Pureblood and Purebred wizarding family that was notable for being elite in wizarding societies between the 19th and 20th centuries.
Elysian Kian IV (1858-1916) was a notorious wizard with Purist views who tortured Muggles and Halfbreeds. Elysian IV had twin children with an unknown pureblood witch who died in childbirth with son Elysian Kain V, who was arranged into marriage with pureblood witch Cirilla Ramsey, and Daughter Ellie Kain, who was sold off at 17 to pureblood wizard Bram Dyson.
Elysian IV also began the tradition of Earlobe Stretching, which began at a young age to make members of the House of Kain distinguishable and recognisable in the wizarding societies.
Elysian Kain V followed his father's purist ideology and made his father proud by having 4 sons, leading them into purist views, and also following the tradition of earlobe stretching.
Ellie Kain was opposed to her father's views and became a famous anti-purism activist in the 1920’s, fighting for the rights of Muggles, half-breeds, elves, and to abolish arranged marriages. Ellie was forced to have one son, Bode Dyson, who disagreed with his mother and continued the path of aristocracy.
The ‘Pure-blood Directory’ by Cantankerus Nott was released in 1932, which listed the 'Sacred Twenty-Eight' . A number of families appeared on this list, notably Wealeys, Daedalus and Malfoy, due to them, at the time, following pureblood supremacy. The directory was extremely bias and inaccurate since the Weasleys had Muggle ancestors and the Daedalus were illegitimately documented as purebloods. Nott dismissed the Kain as Sacred Twenty-Eight because of Ellie Kain’s outspoken pro-muggle ideology.
House of Kain mid-20th century
Elias Kain and Calliope Dyson were first cousins who were arranged to be married in 1956 to keep the line pure, as the pool of elite purebloods was deteriorating. Both were inclined to this because of their extremist pureblood supremacy, leading them to have four children together: Elysian Kain VII (1960), Bliss Kain (1962), Naveah Kain (1964) and Nirvana Kain (1964).
Three of their children: Bliss, Naveah and Nirvana were all born Squibs and had severe deformities, mentioned not to be able to speak in full sentences and had younger mental ages. The eldest, Elysian, had a birth defect that caused her to grow rapidly and eventually reached the height of 6’5 by 16. Also, she was mentally incapable, causing her to not excel in education and appear to have unique personality traits.
Both parents were negelective to their children, not putting them into education and hiding three of them from the public since they were deemed disgraces. Elysian was favoured since she was not a squib, but was ashamed of because of her ideolagy and was elected to the house of Gryfindoor.
Though they were neglective, they weren’t physically, mentally, sexually or emotionally abusive.

➴ though her lack of intelligence is genetic, she is often driven to educate herself out of pure boredom (or challenge). for example, elysian’s top subject is potions while she is failing the rest because she genuinely has no interest in them. but, in 4th year someone said she was incapable of passing anything, so she passed everything! #goat. because her efforts were recognised she was rewarded the prefect title in fifth year and given her own private dormitory.
➴ elysian is NOT a marauder though she is an anamorphic (a common sphynx cat) and is in their social circle
➴ her special interest is textiles and tailoring, often ‘borrowing’ people to model for her
➴ HATES mimics, skinwalkers, banshees etc. which is kind of ironic since she’s technically a skinwalker
➴ often goes missing through out the storyline because she cannot stay on one spot for the life of her, but she also shows up EVERYWHERE
➴ just lets random people into her dorm even if she’s not there
➴ clueless about alternative subcultures even though her best friend is also ‘alternative’ (also clueless, muggles get mad at them because elysian thinks it’s ’a bunch of shit’)
