Fact about Nana! Due to her abuse being in the Orphanage, she struggles with deep PTSD (improves over the years) and Phobias - These 2 being

Scotophobia (fear of the dark)

Autophobia (being alone, isolated

She also tends to get tensed up by loud noises like thunder and lightning, though it isn’t as severe as the others.

I think about this day to day and I STILL hate the way I did nana’s character, mainly her lore (MENTIONS OF SPOLIERS)

the reason being is that at the time.. okay basically how I design OCS is in a process. (name, vision their apperance and the way they’d interact with the characters, and then (love interest) find their balance)

I think I did nanas design first?? then I jumped right into BSD watching just 1-2 episodes, and later ended up watching it with my brother cause I have a bad habit of not finishing animed by myself. Literally Nana’s whole ordeal is she’s in the same orphanage as Atsushi going through the same abuse given her ability, then she gets kicked out and Dazai finds her. basically her whole “dilemma” is trying to be “perceived” as “human,” given the fact she was always abused because of what she is (demon) while also Dazai trying to show her “there is some good”

it’s just a Atsushi/Akutagawa backstory and I HATE IT. Of course she has the thing about her being banished from Hell and all with her parents, but part of me wishes i could’ve at LEAST made it to season 3 and came up with something possibly more in-depth. Shit, I could’ve read Stormbringer (which I haven’t yet) and had inserted lore there.

it was so much that I literally came up with another alternative universe where she stays in hell and she happens to visit earth to catch a body, only to run into Dazai — who ofc grows fascinated with her, while she’s trying to avoid her cause she finds him “weird and annoying.” Like, “a human wanting death??.” And eventually she joins the Mafia, the whole Oda arc would’ve been her awakening and realizing all her “joys in killing” effected families in the way she reacted to Oda’s death — which is her vow to never kill again.

back on her “main lore” she does have a few things here and there, like the reason she hates dogs being connected to the orphanage, her scar, even she has a situation with Mori that I cannot get into for personal reasons. Overall her story is so deep now to her character, I don’t even know if I CAN change it. Pretty much the main important factors would be her being in an Orphanage and meeting Dazai.
