This analysis of the astrology of Stanley Kubrick is over 10,000 words long. It goes into great depth and contextualises the astrology into the fabric of his biography and filmography, including the synastry between him and his actors, musicians and authors.

I am trying something new here. Much more extended writing and a subscriber system using Substack as the platform. Ok, today is the solar return of Stanley Kubrick 26th-of 2026! So I'll run a few quotes and visuals from the extended essay on Stanley Kubrick.

I go into the question of whether Kubrick used astrology as a tool to thematically align his actors like chess pieces on a chess board, and whether he deliberately did hundreds of takes to 'break' them to get a better more authentic emotion from them?

Also it explores why his Neptune placement is so important.

So Jupiter is here today in Leo for a year to expand our minds- Jupiter enters Leo today on the back of a Mercury retrograde and a Full Moon in Capricorn preparing us for a turbulent month of major astrology. Mercury is retrograde in Cancer tracking the same emotional territory that Jupiter recently went retro in Cancer.

Peaking on July 19th we have the extraordinary configuration called Barbault’s basket, tightly linking Jupiter, Pluto, Neptune and Uranus at 4 degrees of Leo Aquarius Aries and Gemini. That could bring outstanding changes.

Then on July 26th we have the Nodes switching signs from Virgo-Pisces to Leo-Aquarius. Even July 4th looks querulous with that Mars-Uranus conjunction so we will have to see what changes we are bombarded with this month and that gears us up for Eclipse season in August. Yet I feel we are still coming to terms with and processing the impact of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction back in February.

Jupiter in Leo for Pisces Sun and Pisces Rising Jupiter holds a special place for Pisces sun signs as it was the ancient ruler of your sign before Neptune came along. All the blessings that Jupiter brings, benevolence, magnanimity, broad-minded tolerance are dear the heart of Pisces too along with making sacrifices. Jupiter in Leo will shine a bright light on those qualities for the next year will occupy the Sixth House and that focusses attention on your working routine, health and any services you provide or are provided to you by others- these are all very important areas related to Virgo your opposite sign –the soma to your psyche, especially if they have become ‘sacred’ rituals that you cannot do without. Jupiter aspects are the ones to watch but also to observe what Neptune is doing in Aries. Jupiter opposes Pluto early on in its journey on July 20th; but it also trines Neptune your ruler adding a spiritual and more uplifting dimension to that oppositional force. Jupiter then conjuncts the Sun on July 29thst which can boost your confidence and creativity. The North Node moves out of Pisces and into Aquarius so that eases off some of the tension in your sign even more. Whatever you felt obliged to pursue over the past 18 months becomes less urgent and you might relax more. That energy might transfer into your dream life and bring transformative messages through dreams and then start questioning your values. With Jupiter in Leo it may be inspiring to your storytelling skills and how to configure deeper meaning out of your life, so you get out your notebook to write the whole story. But you will do that at your own pace in a state of perfect ‘flow’.

Jupiter in Leo for Aquarius and Aquarius Rising Pluto is already in early Aquarius preparing you for the rapid innovations that Uranus in Gemini will also help trigger. Sextile and Trine aspects take the edge off all the transformations these two planets bring. Jupiter crosses opposite your sign in Leo so you may have some blowouts, sudden intensities as Jupiter in Leo opposes your natal planets and expands on all that is there during this coming year. You align with Leo as a fellow fixed sign, sticking to your guns when others flip flop. Where it affects you the most is in the 7th House of both business and romantic relationships. You may wish to do thing differently than others, experiment more, collaborate in unusual ways, exchange energy and treat it all as a learning experience. Working with others helps to transform your view of the world and especially of what you would like to see in your partners and how they mirror your own typical attitudes. Jupiter in the 7th could be lovely and bring marriage vibes too but recall that Pluto is also in Aquarius now asking you to change any fixed views you have on what exactly constitutes a relationship. So, the connections will tend to be deep. You have dual rulers so keep an eye on both Saturn the ancient ruler and Uranus the new ruler of your sign. Jupiter sextiles Uranus in Gemini on July 21st when you can be more agile and idiosyncratic in your appreciation of opportunities. And Jupiter trines Saturn on August 31st. Trines are not challenging but Jupiter will oppose Pluto too, forcing change upon you. Check the degrees as Jupiter moves through where it will oppose your natal Sun in Aquarius

Jupiter in Leo for Capricorn Sun and Capricorn Rising Being pragmatic, there is no obvious affinity with Capricorn and Leo as Earth and Fire signs do not always mix well, but Capricorns need fresh ideas so they may feel that raining in during this year as sparks fly from this transit. Even to see others doing well can inspire you to do likewise, especially if that expands status and class. Jupiter is going through the 8th House of shared emotions and resources here and that could bring in some fortunate opportunities. It is also about psychological co-mingling either with a partner in love or in business or both. This may require some therapeutic work to be done on the inner levels to help manifest in the outer and work out all the issues. It could mean probing research is necessary to fully understand what is at stake. Saturn, your ruler, is still in Aries driving you to be more organised and disciplined. Saturn and Jupiter made a spectacular conjunction in late 2020 and then in 2024-5 they moved into a square formation. The challenges created then might ease off as Jupiter is in a positive trine to Saturn at 13° which is exact on August 31st. Plans needs carefully building but are favoured to succeed but tangible rewards come only through patient and efficient work. Saturn is also square to Mars here and puts the brakes on. There may also be disruptions to your daily routine and your health may suffer as so keep an eye on your diet and proper nutrition. Whatever is slowly forming for you allows for new ways to establish yourself in a more solid but comfortable position in the world. The Jupiter in Leo message to Capricorn is to be more playful like a child whenever you can- that brings magic to your life.

Jupiter in Leo for Sagittarius and Sagittarius Rising There is a fine connection between Leo and Sagittarius here that is one to watch. Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, so it will bring a more regal demeanour to the philosopher, comedian, athletic Sagittarians who may gain more prominence, act smarter and take more risks during this coming year. It hums the tune of that wonderful fire trine that brings Aries into the mix. You will be wildly inspired by as it channels your creative energies in positive and purposeful directions. This may even be true for those with Jupiter in the 5th House in their charts as that is Leo’s house. For Sagittarians Jupiter traverses the 9th House of higher education, beliefs, philosophy and long-distance travel- all dear to a Sagittarian who may feel the urge to uproot as Uranus is now opposing their sign. Jupiter and Leo are very well matched so a sense of harmony can feel like a double blessing. You feel in tune with your higher self and guidance comes easily. People look to you for counsel and may even copy your ideas. Jupiter does however come into direct opposition with Pluto on July 20th which can generate a ton of creative energy but could also require damage control. So avoid going over the top. Jupiter conjuncts Mars and the South Node at 25° of Leo in mid November which could trigger a crisis. The phase for reviewing and reflecting on any gains made from July onwards will be from December to April 2027 during the Jupiter retrograde. That would be time to take stock and finesse the plans till they go forward again from April to July 2027. If anything, Jupiter in Leo lights Sagittarian fire and they’ll be blazing trails.

Jupiter in Leo for Scorpio Sun and Scorpio Rising Scorpio as a deeply emotional and perceptive sign may be wary of Jupiter in Leo yet respect that fixity of viewpoint which they share with Leos. For Scorpios Jupiter is in the 10th House and Leo where it shines a light on increasing personal charisma, decisiveness and intensity. Jupiter has that commanding presence in a fixed fire sign; yet Scorpio has cornered the market on magnetic power so they may align with those extra blessings and power of attraction. Jupiter is not a light weight; he is more than able to go in depth as all those with Jupiter in Scorpio already know. Depth of research is your forte. Jupiter in this domain may mean you have to travel abroad for work or become more of a counsellor -advisor in your role, or to with some legal issues. Or, it could mean you are moved to a bigger office to deal with foreign clients, or your workload is expanded in some way. This might go hand in hand with transformations at home as well, where you live, and how you relate to your family which could occupy and consume your energy. Pluto is the modern ruler of Scorpio, so take note of when Jupiter opposes Pluto on July 20th which could be full of explosive energy which can go into hyperdrive and be a culmination of sorts. Oppositions are challenging but this is softened and given uplifted by Neptune’s more compassionate tone. Neptune trines Jupiter and sextiles Pluto at the same time here. And Mars, the ancient ruler of Scorpio enters Leo on September 28th. Mars and Jupiter come together in Leo for a furore on November 16th which could square your Sun if it is at 25°. But it may just kick start your resilience.

Jupiter in Leo for Libra and Libra Rising. Librans ruled by Venus seek equilibrium in all things and go to great lengths to smooth over any perceived conflicts by seeing both sides of an argument. This may be effective socially but does not always resolve the problems. For Librans, Jupiter is in 11th house for the next year, so it is good to find your soul mates via social media. But the search for friends and communities can proceed through clubs and local groups. Even if only online, you can still relate to people through tastes and beliefs in common about what is or isn’t humane. You may however begin to feel that Jupiter in Leo unleashes energy to push polite discussions into polemic oppositions. Be wary that people in chat rooms miss and diss with information and can over-assert their views or exaggerate too much. But Air signs fuels Fire signs and even though you are fair minded essentially, you may very well join in the fight. Libra is sextile to Leo too which may also bode well as Jupiter journeys through that sign. Jupiter sextiles Venus in Libra on August 17th bestowing confidence and balance in relationships momentarily as that point is in the eclipse window and things can change quickly. This happens two more times on the 4th and 28th November. Generally such sextiles can bring luck and money, but Venus goes retrograde in Scorpio in October when relationships and resources may be under review. You might also begin to think afresh about the people you seek to be your partners and might wish them to be more forceful, disciplined and even spiritual too which helps or you find yourself accepting contradictory behaviours in others.

Jupiter in Leo for Virgo Sun and Virgo Ascendant Virgos are practical, shrewd and meticulous about details, so and any booster of big-picture Jupiter in Leo might bring appears to you to be way over the top and unnecessary. You might not even notice the Jupiter effect for the next year as it resides in the 12th House. This is a mysterious area that likes seclusion, and unconscious processing, where sleep and dreams prevail. Yet Jupiter can act like a hidden guardian angel here but his actions may be hard to spot in the 3D world. To focus on how you can generate workable solutions may be exactly the strategy needed to enhance any fortune coming your way. You may accidentally come up with great ideas. Venus is in that area at least from June until July 10th when it comes into your sign to add love to all the research needed. There may also be necessary changes in your daily routines and extra efforts needed in your career. Mercury is your ruler so pay attention when it goes retrograde but also specifically when Jupiter conjoins Mercury especially August 15th when Jupiter conjuncts Mercury your ruler when it reaches 10° of Leo. Perhaps in view of Jupiter being in a ‘hidden’ house, writing in your personal journal might be what best promotes psychological integration and spiritual healing. This would be especially true during the Jupiter retrograde- your ‘wisdom’ review time from December to April 2027. You may at this time also consider going long distance to enjoy a spiritual retreat where you can rejuvenate, detox and give your whole attention to your physical health

Jupiter in Leo for Leo Sun or Rising Sign This is the big one for Leo as this coming year from July 2026 to July 2027 could bring some badly needed opportunities. Jupiter here puts you firmly centre stage where even reluctant Leos often want to be. Fire signs respond well to inspirations and the vision of a good life. Attention may be on you more than other signs. It can be a welcome blessing for Leos, for learning and ideas, completing big projects and travel plans are all good when the sun shines. It is time to make big moves. Since it is in your first house it can revitalise your physical energy, offering greater stamina and resilience and zest to your charisma. As as long as that does not tend to overindulgence with food and drink, it can help focus on your personal image and your PR to the world. You may seem somehow more important to others as if you radiate the charm of a guru or a giver of wisdom. This can impact your appeal as a teacher and trusted loyal friend to some who see you as a counsellor. In terms of fashion, you could feel like adopting a more formal, dignified appearance or even more regal colours and fabrics. Whatever you choose, even if it is not more expensive-looking, it can have a knock-on effect on your charisma and confidence so that you take on more this year and manage to succeed with what few others could pull off. Check what Jupiter is doing to your personal placements and the day it conjuncts your Sun will definitely be special. During the Jupiter retrograde however from December to April 2027, a few personal dramas may be triggered more than once as they will drill over your planets in Leo.

Jupiter in Leo for Cancer Sun or Rising Sign The past year 2025 to 2026 has had Jupiter in your sign, your first house, and being a benefic, it has brought a certain degree of guidance and protection, and you have been able to expand, so you might be sorry to see it leave on June 30th. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer enhancing intuition. But Jupiter in Leo is still brings in the blessings since it now moves into your 2nd house of self worth and stability, perhaps helping to shine a broader light on your resources and being able to streamline and simplify expenses. There may be changes to how money is shared along with disruptive dreams to any peaceful hideaways you hoped would be ultra secluded. So be on the alert. Jupiter in this area may mean you’d like to have larger savings, and even a bigger home, more space to feel comfortable while you are busy nurturing your family. You might increase items in your curated collections of objects. It may even suggest moving abroad? Watch out for when the Moon, your ruler ,conjuncts Jupiter as feelings can go from micro to mega and impact all around you. That will be at least once a month; the first time they meet is July 15th; then it conjuncts Jupiter just before the solar eclipse August 12th, so that will resonate for you. But they come especially close on November 30th when they are both at the same right ascension and even visible in the sky together. A Jupiter ruled by the Sun and not the Moon may mean you have to come out of hiding and be seen by more people, go to more parties, or perform a more public role than before. But it still offers areas of growth and expansion for home-loving Cancerians.

Jupiter in Leo for Gemini Sun or Rising Sign Gemini has Jupiter moving through the 3rd House for a year. What better for your innate curiosity and dexterity than Jupiter in Leo to lead you further afield as Jupiter values knowledge and deeper learning. Jupiter in Leo brings uplift as air signs fuel fire signs. Your mental processes may get a boost. It might be a time to go back to school to fill in the skills gaps. You might remember to put the big picture in amongst all the details for greater breadth and balance. Gemini is more than adept at managing change and now with Uranus in your sign, it is all the better for stimulating more original wit and out-of-the box thinking which could lead to several fresh plans or even mastering new social codes and languages faster than ever or upgrading your social media presence. The main domain of activity will be in your immediate environment, among relatives and neighbours so the gossip could spread like wildfire as people are spark off with news and stories, especially August 15th when Jupiter conjuncts Mercury your ruler when it reaches 10° of Leo. It is a time for big news and revelations. Just be careful not to go over the top. The onset of this Jupiter ingress coincides with the beginning of Mercury retrograde in Cancer lending an emotional quality to your cognitive processes until late July. Mercury does another retrograde in Scorpio in November which could be even more therapeutic. But Mars is also there in Gemini from the end of June into July, lending force to social communications. In all Gemini can spot areas for growth with Jupiter in Leo, so make the most of all opportunities.
