The Winged Lion seems more 'nice' (although still twisted) as compared to the other demon that we get a small glimpse at with the Canaries.

The concept of magic itself creating a bond WITH humanity, ALONGSIDE different personas for each dungeon that magic resides in.

Despite the Winged Lion desiring to eat, y'know... desires, they refrain from eating all they come in contact with. Distraught at some of their past encounters with humans, it cherishes each and every person that it comes in direct contact with. Mithrun, Laios, Marcille, they always refrain from eating but can't help themselves.

It's a sick kind of abuse, really. This tragedy of having to eat the one concept you fell in love with, and in turn taking that concept and potentially killing the thing that showed it to you in the first place. Despite being kind of abused, they also directly hurt others even if they don't really mean to.
