The biggest one that kills me is Paige Mahoney. Paige has been tortured mentally and physically for four books. She canonically has scars on her face, arms, palms, and basically her whole body. She is constantly covered in mud and blood and gross water and bruises and scabs. Why are we pretending she is a button nosed, porcelain skinned movie star? Yes she has blonde hair and blue eyes but that’s where the starlet vibes stop.Homie does parkour and shoves her soul out of her own body as a weapon. She is almost always bleeding from her nose or wincing at her messed up wrist or disheveled from following a lead. People feminizing her to the extreme weirds me out.

Yes, there are only seven Reph families, including the Mothallath. The number seven recurs throughout the series, partly because I was first inspired by the district of Seven Dials.

The Rephs have human tailors working for them. In Oxford, their clothes used to be made and cleaned by the performers, but after the Novembertide Rebellion, this work was done at the support outpost, Winterbrook. The Ranthen used to rely on humans from Circinus – Alsafi's network – to make clothes to their measurements; they've since carried out their own repairs on their clothing. You'll actually see how they're sourcing new ones in TBS6.

You won't see Pivot, as she's based in Venice and Paige sadly doesn't return there in TBS6, but Ducos remains a key player.

Lucida admires Paige and wants to be her friend, but is too much of a Reph to show it – although she does make a cute attempt in TBS6. Pleione is currently a bit irritated with her; you'll find out why in the Iceland section. Lesath is very loyal to Arcturus, so he likes and defends Paige on principle. However, all three of them are currently wary of Paige after what she did at the end of The Dark Mirror.
