Chomp has relaunched its service and has dropped the social features and is focusing on being a search engine for apps.  Interesting that the poor search capability of the Android Market opened up this opportunity for this service...

“We’ve developed the algorithm that really stands out on Android since search is so bad,” Keighran says. “It learns the topic and function of every app in the store. And using AI and machine learning, it builds a whole new database of apps.

Enterprise management platform for Android by Motorola owned 3LM has HTC, Sharp, Sony Ericsson, and Pantech all on board... could be an real competitor to RIM and iOS in the enterprise.

I used to teach Computer Science at a community college.  I loved teaching and I loved my students... 99% of the kids in my intro to c++ class said that they wanted to learn how to program because they wanted to write computer games.  They had NO idea what was involved in writing a game... they just knew they liked to play computer games.

Unfortunately, a beginning C++ class is a looong way from writing anything interesting and game-like...

This site is a great intro to programming for "kids" of all ages who want to get a taste of how to program something fun...hmmm this may be a great way to introduce my six year old to the command line.
