        Mandy looked between the shattered remains of the Milkovich’s living room window, and her very unconcerned brother.

Truth be told, Mickey had missed his sister. With all the shit they had give each other over the years, she was his favorite sibling and they had always been close. If there was one person he wanted to see from his old life, he wanted it to be Mandy. From what he could tell, she seemed happy which was more than he could say when she had skipped town all those years ago.

“Thought you were here for the tequila.” He rolled his eyes, before his arms were finding their way around his sister. “Missed you asswipe.” He broke the hug after a moment. “Fuck off. I was just asking.” He walked back behind the counter. “You want something to drink?” 

“ Yeah , uh . You got any coke ? ” she requested. Mandy walked over to the bar and hopped onto a stool, drummed her fingers against the glossy hardtop. She was glad she’d gotten to the bar early enough in the day that it was mostly deserted, with only a couple stragglers. It would be good to talk to Mickey alone, without having to reunite in the middle of a crowd.

[text → Mickey] Ok so go steal someone else’s

[text → Mickey] Jesus fuck this isn’t jail u can get more cigarettes

[text → Mandy] Took my meds already. Should shower.

[text → Mandy] Didn’t mean to ignore you. What’s up?

[text → Mickey] Probably 1 of the other 8 people who live in this house

[text → Mandy] Nothing.

[text → Mandy] Been in bed all day.

[text → Ian] So what r u gonna do

[text → Mickey] Did not take ur smokes

Ian felt Mandy slip the pill into his mouth and swallowed it without question. Probably not the greatest idea, especially with all the booze they’d had earlier (and all the booze still lying around the place) but Ian trusted her. ‘sides, what’s wrong with having a little fun every now and then, right? He opened his eyes and grinned down at her as he waited for the effects of whatever she’d fed him to kick in. “Milkovich secret recipe? What’s the occasion?" 

When Mickey had escaped to Mexico, He hadn’t told anyone where he was going, not even Iggy who had been his closest sibling after Mandy. He hadn’t told Svetlana either, he was sure she didn’t want anything to do with his ass anyway. Yevgeny deserved better than a father, who was constantly fucking up his life all for a boy who didn’t seem to give a shit as Mickey wanted him to. No. The only person who knew where he was had been Ian and even then, he didn’t exactly know which Mexican city he had settled down in for the time being. They had barely discussed it on their way to Mexico, it was something they were going to decide when they had safely crossed the border. 

While Mickey hadn’t really missed his old life, they were still people he missed such as Mandy and even to some extent Iggy. He hadn’t seen his sister since she had ran off with Kenyatta, something he should have tried harder in preventing. But of course with the rub n tug getting shut down and trying to deal with Ian’s crazy antics, he had too much shit going on. Besides, his sister was a tough girl and even if she had been making a huge mistake by taking off with her abusive boyfriend, he knew she’d be able to handle herself. 

He had thought about contacting her, whether it was by getting in touch with Iggy first or by some other means, but he decided not to in the end. Maybe it was better that way.

Refilling another glass, he looked up at mild surprise when he heard a familiar voice and insult called out to him. “Shit, Mandy?” 

He walked around the counter to make sure he wasn’t seeing things, standing right in front of his sister. “The fuck you doing here?” Though he had been untraceable to those that knew him, he knew there were ways to find him. No matter how much he wanted to fall off the face of the earth, he wouldn’t be able to escape his past. Looking around her, he searched another familiar face. “Uh, anybody else here with you?”

Mandy knew it had been years since she’d seen him, knew they’d both lived entire lifetimes since then, but seeing her brother again, hearing his voice, gave her such a vivid feeling of familiarity it almost knocked her off her feet. Like smelling something that gives you an immediate flashback to a childhood memory, or hearing your old favorite song and realizing you still know all the words.
