Hello hello!! Iâm Tungsten, but feel free to just call me Metal too if youâd like. Just use whatever pronouns you want for me.
Iâm mainly here to post my writing. Iâm a lurker by heart so if Iâm not very chatty, thatâs just how I am! But feel free to send me asks and stuff, I'm much more likely to respond than to initiate an interaction. Iâm also inconsistent with uploads but Iâm hoping to improve on that front.
Currently I have three things Iâm likely to post about! However, as of now I'm only actively working on one of those things (Cold), so you won't see much of the other stuff for a little while. See the masterpost for all that below:
Cold
Lately when Iâve been having weird or unpleasant thoughts Iâve tried journalling, which turned into mediocre prose poetry. Some of it is almost worth sharing in my opinion, so here's some of it. I am by no means a poet, so donât put your expectations too high if youâre examining it as a poet. I hope some of it still resonates with some of you.
I'll try to post something every Tuesday!

Junk Heap
This is my main WIP! I wonât spoil too much in the summary here but itâs science fiction and takes place thousands of years after humans disappeared, leaving the odd ruins of their hyper-advanced tech. A race of supposedly mindless foreign invaders called the demons attack the Archipelago that composes the entire known world, and the story follows one exiled demon who wants to:
1) Find out why no one really remembers how the war started, and
2) Live.
This will mostly consist of lore (worldbuilding and character) posts, and some occasional snippets. I'll try to post Junk Heap on Sundays, but I'm not always very consistent, so don't expect it to be too regular.
Table of contents TBA
The Light of a Setting Sun
This is my side WIP which is secretly a Junk Heap AU that became an entire other thing. This one I might post the actual story scenes rather than just lore posting like for Junk Heap, and I want a lot of it to be completely unspoiled, so my description here is quite vague. The premise is very simple, that a young woman is the Chosen One tasked with saving the world from the Dark Lord. I wonât say anything else here, but there is a good reason why it starts out so derivative.
I'll try to post about LSS on Thursdays. However, out of the three, I am most likely to skip posts because I'll probably hold myself to the highest standard when posting about LSS, so I'll likely post very rarely (monthly, or even less often). This makes Thursdays also a miscellaneous day when I might post whatever I feel like that week.
table of contents TBC
Day 1: When It Falls Apart
Night 1: What Came After
Day 2: Dusk and the Shadow
Night 2: As It Were
Day 3: Other Destinies
Night 3: Ghost of a God
Day 4: Someplace Else
Night 4: What Came Before
Day 5: The End of the Circle
Miscellaneous
I have a couple additional projects on the go! They are all either smaller projects, or need a lot more time in the oven, so donât expect anything super fleshed-out or consistent if I post anything not related to the above three projects. I have minimal to no plot for these, but I do have some cool designs, backstories, and concepts I might wanna talk about :}
At Least Once (oneshot based off multiple projects)
With all that out of the way, also I love talking about my stuff so please send me any asks you may have about my writing (or anything else if my life is really that interesting to you I guess). You can send asks to my OCs too! Iâll try to have them answer in character, whether you want to pick their brains a little or just tell them something silly. or expose them to the Horrors :}
Thatâs about it for now. I also have an AO3 with a single fic I havenât updated in a year and I am not allowing myself to link it until I get my shit together and start updating it again.

heyheyhey everyone
i said there was a different piece i wanted to post last update, but i didn't post it. well here it is. i wrote it just last week and the feelings are still a bit fresh, but it's interesting getting something off my chest right away instead of waiting to touch it up.
i liked how i wrote this at the time. i think being ugly fits it well. so, minimal editing. see below vvv and goodbye
~
anyway, what do you call it when the sunrise looks tired and you forgot why you were supposed to like it in the first place
fell in love with the sound of rain and even now tapping my window i fix myself to my bed, covers to my collarbones, huddled, its 9pm and im not ready to wake up yet
clear skies at night with the bright crescent moon and i tell myself i cant look it in the eye because its six in the morning, and id rather sleep, but i guess im doing neither
skipped breakfast because its 4 (, the evening) so is it really breakfast anymore, and i dont eat to feed myself, i eat for taste, and i just dont really care for anything in the fridge right now or ever or maybe tomorrow
think about telling someone about something / something / anything? / a single thing and i dont because im stubborn / noble / stupid / lazy / kind? / lazy. keep to myself hope not to explode wonder if anyone thinks about me on their commute / at work / in class / thinks about reaching out to a friend the way i do and just doesnt the way i do
wonder if i count as a friend wherever i am in their head or if im in their head at all wonder if it would be a mercy to pluck out memories of me and flick them away instead
headache with a side of no painkillers and staring at the computer screen (watching a mind-numbing video ill forget about within the hour) until im too nauseous to think right because ive sucked it up before, i can do it again and so why bother stopping even if it hurts and god forbid i
hi all! late post today on account of i forgor
oh also unrelated but do yall read the tags?? i mean it's not necessary by any means. i just put stuff there sometimes and im curious to know if that's reaching any of yall or not. all 3 of you who will read this anyway
but i digress. see below cut :}
~
I am often disappointed by my own standards, and there is only one thing Iâve found I can tell myself that always works to lessen it.
I always ask myself to find, had I the option to turn back time and erase this whole day from my life, something I'm glad to have done today that would make me hesitate to do so.
It doesnât have to be an important thing. It doesnât have to be an enjoyable one. Hell, it doesnât even have to make the rest of the day worth happening at all.
It just needs to be something that, were I to make that choice, Iâd be a little upset to lose it.
okay, there isn't really a good cutoff point for these. i have more short pieces i'll save for another week. because at this rate i need all the backlog i can get
this is the one i like most probably for all of this week's updates, so i'll stop here. i do like the ones that follow this more on average than the one's ive already posted, but it's whatever, i'm posting these because i'm not motivated and i'm not exactly looking for my greatest pieces. those will take the most editing. and i do not want that kind of self-induced pressure right now.
see below the cut as usual :} and i hope you have / had a good week! as of tuesday when im writing this im doing pretty good so yippee for me i guess
~
My breathing feels fake. Not fake. Itâs real. Itâs forced. There is nothing that comes naturally about it. Mechanical. Instructed.
As you do, I suppose.
I dream of my innards knitting themselves into origami swans.
another!! again not sure if i wanted to post because it's, i don't know, a single fucking line. but as far as single lines go it's not a bad one so here you go i guess. below cut.
why do i even have a cut for one line? we'll never know.

iiiiiiit's me
if you read my previous post, you'll know i'm posting a bunch of pieces off-schedule so i spread updates evenly throughout the week. so here's the second update for the week :} enjoy see below cut etc etc
~
I ruin everything.
But everything is all temporary anyway.
I would give your kingdom for a silent night, my love for cheap assurance,
Pay priceless gifts for frivolous junk, every time I have the chance,
I donât value the love of others.
I just let it rot, and then burn, and then I choke on the smoke.
It feels warm.
It feels like sin.
Iâd dip my hands in blood just because I like the hue.
Is it wrong, then, to spurn a faithless killer like me?
hi its me again. im so f ucking tired ive gotten 10 hours of sleep i think. in the past three days. its entirely my fault. help
okay okay but as a result i have another cluster update. still minimally edited. still short pieces. im sorry yall i dunno when ill get back on top of writing ive just been. tired. yknow
these are all older. say like, two years old possibly? i might come back and edit them if i ever get a chance
anyway ive also decided to spread out updates across the week instead of posting everything at once. just cuz it seems more appropriate.
see below cut etc.
~
I always feel the shittiest the moment right after everythingâs over and done
The calm after the storm
Itâs easier to keep going when the adrenaline is pumping and tunnel vision is the only way to make it through
And now I sit down and I have time to wonder if things could have gone differently.
There is blood, on my hands.
And Iâm not sure where it came from,
And I wonder if it really had to end up there in the first place.
*sigh* bestie stop playing Solcesto and go the fuck to sleep.
I say this as though my life isnât a mess as well (I keep better sleep habits but am worse with other things). Me and metal are twin hot messes. And also actual (fraternal) twins.

Please remember that no matter what there'll always be someone or something that's rooting for you, it doesn't necessarily need to be a humanâ it could be a plant, a tree, you name it!
Please remember that even if it gets hard you'll get through it, I believe in you.
hi anon! thanks for your concern, that's very kind of you :}
i am doing better now, rest assured. i was just having a Moment, as you do. The same situation is happening but I'm having a much better time dealing with it now that everything seems more stable.
And that's good advice, too. About someone or something always being there for you. I'm better at recognising that nowadays, but that's something I think I really needed to hear (and actually believe) when I was a few years younger.
But anyway, thank you. I appreciate that you'd reach out to a stranger like me who might need a kind word.
second post for this week, below the cut. thanks for bearing with me, everyone. i'm looking to start posting some other works on here soon, i've just been super demotivated, as per usual.
~
I said something bad happened.
But the pain never touched me, did it. Not as a direct target.
Just a mere drop of an ocean splashed onto my cheekbones, while others are drowning.
So sure. Maybe something bad happened and I was there to get caught in the collateral.
Why am I the one whoâs complaining about getting hurt?
hey hey hey funny story uhhhh i still didn't edit anything for this week. oops. i do have two recent pieces i'll post tho, they're related to last week's collection so you can think of them like an informal continuation of that. here's the first, under the cut:
~
I drew a line in the sand once, just to see if sheâd cross it.
And you know what? She did. I led her over it and she didnât even look down once.
At the time, I said that was that, and that Iâd fight tooth and nail to keep her outside my built bounds, now and for forever.
But then I realised something: I donât know why she just kept walking.
Maybe her eyes were full of sand and she couldnât see anything at all, through the tears and stinging grit. God knows Iâve been there myself.
off schedule post because oh shit pride month is almost over. decided i gotta post this before that happens
it's just a silly self-indulgent drabble i wrote based off my OCs. it's a weird time for me to post this because I haven't provided context for any of the stories they're from, but oh well. I wrote this just for fun anyway. it's like the "I love you in every universe" prompt except i made it sad because I'm a piece of shit asshole (lovingly and respectfully)
Happy pride everyone!! go my silly toxic girlkissers. except for the one part where they're siblings i guess. well actually imo they only have real chemistry in like half of these but ok you know what dont even worry about it theyre gay losers in every reality and that will never change. at least the scraggly wet cat one is anyway
3000 words under the cut so be careful hitting that readmore VVV and if yall want context i might or might not add a reblog with extra info but we'll see
It was a clear night.
Most nights were, at this time of year. Out on the water, there were hardly any lights to bounce across the churning waves, so the blackness settled over the deck of the ship with little opposition. Morr stood alone, accompanied only by the measured rocking of the ground beneath her, and the slow slosh of brine.
Apparently the stars were visible tonight. The sky was just black to her, though, as it generally was. But that was fine. Their light wasnât to guide her, after all; she wasnât the one in need of it.Â
A click and a clomp echoed from behind her. She didnât mean to scowl at the sound of it, and the look on her face might give the wrong impression. So she didnât bother turning.
I didnât know you were here, Urkis tapped out on the railing. Isnât it boring at night?
âItâs peaceful.â A little thrum of disuse made its home in Morrâs voice. It probably wouldâve been rude not to say anything. Urkis ignored her anyway, drawing a finger along the length of the railing. Morr had to force herself not to grab her arm to stop her.
The tremors stopped, her fingertip lightly fluttering to a standstill before resuming motion with a new sense of purpose. Morr?
She didnât bother responding. It was just her name.
Familiar with her quirks, Urkis carried on, unfettered. Do you think there are other⌠The scratching motion resumed, a sentence forgetting its own parts. Us? Out there?
No, not those. Morr could almost see the outline of Urkisâs head twitch in frustration. Other⌠worlds? Places like here?
âUniverses,â Morr finished.
Yes. Those.
The wind was starting to pick up, now, the whistling brushing over the fur on her ankles. Urkis shivered, Morr did not. She tapped one hoof on the chilled deck. âWhy?â
Well, if there are⌠Urkis curled her fingers over the railing, gripping it firmly enough to send a light muscular twang of feedback where Morr rested her own forehoof. She continued, white-knuckled, tapping out words with a thumb instead. Do you think thereâs a⌠world⌠where we love each other?

âUm. Hey.â Tessie awkwardly tried to lower herself to the ground, falling the last third of the way down when it ended up being a bit farther than sheâd expected.
âTess, be careful,â Allie scolded. She tucked her knife back into its sheath, setting her sharpening stone on the concrete stair next to her, and pulled Tessie into a more traditional sitting position. âAre you okay?â
âDude Iâm fine.â Tessie waved her off. âDonât lose your shit. Relax a little.â
Allie slowly shifted her legs in front of her, into a perfectly cross-legged position. She traced over the tendons in the back of her hand before grasping her own knuckles. Squeezing hard enough to pale the flesh underneath, as though she could staunch the flow of words with it.
It didnât quite work. âYou make it very hard sometimes,â she whispered, more to herself than the world.
Tessie flinched. âI know.â Her voice was, if possible, quieter than Allieâs own.
Regret immediately filled the space where those words had sat in her chest. Allie reached for her disproportionally large hand, only for it to be jerked away moments before contact. They both settled for just holding their own wrists.
Tessie inhaled shakily, breath hitching before the motion could complete. Her next attempt was somewhat better. âA-Allie?â
Allie dug her nails in. âYeah, Tess?â
âI know I havenât been a very good sister.â God, her voice was so small, like she could just melt away into nothing. Dissolve into a sea of soupy blood, a coagulated aggregation of unfortunate souls. Like a piece of it was taken with the rest of her body, too.
âItâs okay.â Allie sniffled, Tessieâs features swimming in salt and sin. âYou didnât⌠I know you did it for me, itâs justâŚâÂ
Her forearms were stinging, now. Tessie gently reached over and pried her nails free, releasing a sob from deep in Allieâs core. âI know. Iâm sorry.â
âI-Iâm the one who⌠I shouldâve been there for you.â Allie shoved her face in her hands, shuddering. Tessie wrapped her unfamiliar arms around her, rubbing circles into her back. She let her. If she didnât look, if she kept her face covered, Allie could almost pretend it was just a stranger, that the person behind her didnât have her sisterâs eyes. And she wanted to. But she didnât.
âAllie?â The illusion wasnât there, so it didnât shatter like a pane of glass at the sound of her voice. âDo you, um⌠do you think thereâs other ways this couldâve happened? Like, other universes?â
Allie choked on her own laughter, before it devolved into something harder to place. âWhat kind of question is that?â
âIâm just asking.â She could hear something that wasnât exactly a smile in Tessieâs voice. âIâm just asking if⌠maybe, do you thinkâŚâ She took a breath. It was longer than it should have been, and Allie was almost used to it. âDo you think thereâs a universe out there where thereâs no bullshit, and nothing bad happens to us, and we just love each other like sisters?â
~
âWe should probably⌠talk about this.â Mia sipped her tea, now cold. She was more of a coffee person, really, but she figured she could more than use a break from the stuff for a bit. She set the mug back down on the low table, ignoring the dark ring of condensation seeping into the light wood. Its contents rippled out in a vaguely circular shape. She blinked. âI just donât know where to start.â
Nerves tensing, she glanced back at where Ash was sprawled out on the rough carpeted floor. She stretched, twisting her whole spine segment by segment as each of her numerous limbs extended and popped their joints. Concluded the motion with her featureless face cocking curiously in Miaâs direction. Passing the baton back to her.
Mia just sighed. âFor starters, Iâm sorry. ForâŚâ The tea almost splashed her in the face as she went for another sip, and she flinched, grimacing, before shoving the coaster towards the other end of the table and setting the mug there to stay instead. âIâm sorry I wasnât there for you.â
Ash shook her head as she wandered over to the Scramble set currently acting as the worldâs shittiest AAC device. Mia gave her a moment to dig through the letter tiles, tossing most of them aside as though theyâd personally insulted her, and slotting the remaining few neatly into place. When she was done, she flipped around and tapped a simultaneously simple and inconceivable message. NOT YOUR FAULT.
Mia shook her own head, now. âIt really is. I just left you there. Twice, now.â Ash swiped away the message with enough force to send a couple tiles across the room. As one careened into Miaâs dangling foot, she leaned down to pick it up before flicking it back in her direction, though Ash failed to notice as she started spilling more pieces onto the floor. She tried not to interrupt whenever Ash was trying to get her words in, but her thoughts just slipped out without her permission. âIâm trying to be better.â
Ash scraped a needle into the floor, maybe hard enough to leave a scratch. Hopefully Bosco wouldnât still care about property damage or security deposits given recent global phenomena. Words slid in to cover the mark anyway. YOU NEEDED HELP TOO.
Mia rested her chin in her hand, though her body had to twist awkwardly away from the table to keep her eyes on Ash. âI guess so. Itâs just shit all over.â She snorted humourlessly. âGod, and I thought we had something good too.â
IM SORRY. Ash was already ready before the words were even out of her mouth.
Miaâs eyes flicked away, all semblance of contentment fading instantly. âDonât be sorry. Itâs just⌠itâs all just too much. Itâs no oneâs fault.â She tried to make eye contact with Ash, or at least look wherever her eyes would have been. She wasnât sure if Ash could even tell she was trying, really. âI just miss what we had. It couldâve worked. But please donât be sorry about it.â
Ash rolled her knuckles across the floorboards, making rapid metallic little taps at every moment of contact. Poked a needle into a tile and dragged it aimlessly around until it got caught in a rut between the boards, hitching and yanking itself free of her. After a pause, she started collecting pieces, so slowly that Mia almost thought she was just packing them away, before squinting down at the unfinished message. THERE OTHER UNIVERSES7. No, maybe the 7 was a question mark. THERE OTHER UNIVERSES?
Mia rolled her eyes. âYouâre asking me?â At the sight of Ash nodding so eagerly, Mia cracked a smile and relented. âSure then. Why not.â
Already having plotted her plan of attack, Ash filled in the blanks of her next half-constructed message. ANOTHER UNIVERSE. WE <3. ALL OKAY. IT WORKS OUT?
~
âIâm sorry. Iâm so sorry. God, Iââ Mora broke down sobbing again, face buried in her hands. She curled up in her corner, refusing all comfort but that of the bare concrete. âI donât know what the hell is wrong with me.â
Aika was tempted to reach for her, but she knew better than to touch her after one of her episodes. She settled for conjuring up a notebook with a plain orange pencil, jotting down her thoughts in a way sheâd never find quite satisfactory. She tore a page free and pushed it towards Mora, and to her relief, she lowered one hand to read it. I forgive you.
âBut you shouldnât.â Mora closed herself off once more. âYou shouldnât. This is all my fault. All of it. And itâs⌠itâs too late to fix any of it.â
Aika shook her head, though she knew Mora wasnât really looking. Etching out more words with more purpose, and Mora received them in a very similar fashion. You know now. Youâre doing something. That counts.
Mora sniffled. âIâm beyond help, Aika. Iâve been beyond help since before you met me.â
Aikaâs brows furrowed, moisture pooling in her own eyes. She wiped it away before it could drip onto the paper, although she wasnât sure water damage was a thing at all in the simulation. Everyone speaks so highly of you. Even the newer denizens, like me. Youâve tried everything you could have to help us. You can still do this.
âI donât want to do this anymore.â Mora flipped around, curling in on herself. Facing Aika, but still shielding herself from the sight of her. âIâm selfish. Iâve always been selfish. I donât⌠I donât know how to be that person anymore.â
You can still be a good person. Aika tried to meet her eyes, but found Mora too evasive. She settled for watching them scan over her words. Passing it off as an afterthought, she slid another over before Mora was even done reading. You just wanted to live. Itâs not fair to place the burden of eternity on you.
Mora let the second note fall out of her hands. âItâs not fair for the rest of you, either. Itâs just us all⌠blaming each other all the time.â She collapsed onto the floor, laying sideways, wrists tucked in against her chest. âI just wish I could go back and make things okay again. I wish one mistake wouldnât just ruin everything forever.â
Musing, Aika was hit with a sudden spark of inspiration. Moraâs brows furrowed as she tried to read the page she was hit with, apparently a total non-sequitur. Mora, do you think there are other realities out there? Maybe other simulations?
The paper crumpled slightly in her grip. âI sure as hell hope not. But maybe.â
Already having started her follow-up message, Aika wrote out the last few words before giving Mora the rest of the question. Do you think that if there are, then thereâs one where we all get along, and everythingâs okay, and weâre all happy forever?
~
âEmma, Iââ
âJust hang on a minute.â Emma threw open another drawer in the ancient dresser, seemingly at random, throwing a couple random knickknacks around the dank cabin before slamming it shut with the barest modicum of restraint. âI just need to check⌠shit, wait.â
âEmmaââ
âJust wait, Ashton. God I need to check the doors tooââ
âEmma.â
Emma finally snapped up, blinking twice, and let her eyes meet Ashtonâs for what felt like the first time that entire night. One of her hands jerked slightly downwards, as though it was done whatever it was doing but still not quite convinced of that. The other remained up, trembling gently, outstretched vaguely towards the trashed workspace.Â
Something about Ashtonâs grimace burned itself into her retinas. Hooked into her sockets and held them in place, there. Emmaâs finger twitched. âWhâ What?â
âEmma, just⌠ugh, I canât say relax.â Ashton smiled. Her teeth could shatter at any moment. âItâll be okay, Em. You said itâs safe here, right?â
âWell it should be.â Emma shook her head, eyes starting to wander fervently. âItâs been safe. I donât know. Things change across loops. I donât want toââ
âEmma, please.â Ashtonâs smile was shaky too, now, and maybe it was too much to ask but god Emma just needed her to keep it together. It was too much to ask. It was disgusting of her to even think of such a demand. But thankfully, Ashton took a deep breath, pushed it out, and the smile held. âWe made it here. So weâre fine for now. Thatâs what you said, right?â
Emmaâs hand fiddled with her sleeve. âYeah. Yeah, weâre fine. Itâs fine.â She tried for a deep breath of her own. In, out. Her breath hitched. Still unsteady. Vaguely, she felt something dig into her forearm.
âHey, none of that, Ems.â A cool hand wrapped around her fingers, forcing her nails out of her skin. She looked down. A faint crimson had bloomed under her fingernails, dwarfed by the coat of blood on Ashtonâs palm. Her blood.
Ashton gasped as Emma crushed her in an embrace, stumbling back just one step towards the far wall of the cabin. Her foot shuffled back to steady both of them, and Emma corrected herself, clutching Ashton close to her and bearing her weight on her frame.Â
Ashton laughed â or maybe sobbed? â wetly. âI thought you said youâve saved me in other loops before.â
âI did,â Emma choked out. Her grip tightened. âIt doesnât get easier. Seeing you⌠die isnât something I can get used to, Ashton.â
Ashton sniffled, then began to shudder as she began falling apart completely. Now returning the embrace, tethering herself to her wonderful, amazing, stupidly kind⌠whatever they were, for dear life. âIâm sorry. God, Emma, Iâm sorry, Iââ
âDonât you dare apologize.â Emma shook her head. âPlease donât blame yourself.â
âBut itâs all my fault, this wouldnât have happened if I didnât run away like a stupid fuckingââ
âI said donât.â Emma let Ashton shift her weight back onto her own feet, and pulled away just enough to see her tear-laden eyes. âAshton, it would be ridiculous to blame you for all this. Iâm not mad anymore. I donât care about any of that anymore.â
More tears welled up, trickling down Ashtonâs face as her mouth began to screw up in shame. âYouâre too good for me, Ems. I donât deserve you. You donât deserve this.â
Emma shook her head ever so gently, letting her eyes rove over the other girlâs face, committing each detail to memory. âYou donât deserve it either.â
Ashton collapsed back into Emma, burying her face into her chest. The dampness began to seep into her shirt, and Emma steadied her, running one hand through her tangled, filthy hair. Between the muffling of her clothing and the sobs racking her body, Ashton was nearly, though not quite, incomprehensible. âIâm so stupid. Itâs going to happen fucking over and over and over again and I just want to take it all back. I should be the one who remembers. Why are you the one who has to remember?â
âItâs my fault too,â Emma said, running a thumb across Ashtonâs cheek. âI shouldnât have yelled at you like that, in the hospital. I shouldâve known.â
Ashton smiles, as though baring fangs, and holds Emmaâs hand there against her face. âItâs so fucking stupid that we figure this all out and we canât even do anything about it.â
Emma feels her mouth curve in a rare smile of her own, and she feels something in her soul break in order to do it. âYeah.â
âUm, Emma?â Ashton looks up at her, trying to blink the rest of her tears out of her lashes.
âYes?â
Ashtonâs eyes slip away, just for a moment, before mustering the courage to keep themselves steady, but not enough to keep her voice from cracking. âOut of all the multiverses, or whatever, but like⌠outside the loops. Um, I donât really know how it works. But out of all of them, do you think that at some point, we learned our lesson and⌠and things got better?â
~
âRhaio?â
âHm?â Still grinning, Rhaio tore her gaze away from the star-speckled sky, and looked over her shoulder at where Sikril lay down on the soft meadow grass right next to her. âWhatâs on your mind, Sikril?â
Sikril fiddled with the stalk of an unknown wildflower, pinching it in her fingertips, but not tearing it from the soil. âUm, you know about the other places, correct? The ones that came before?â
âI do, yes.â Rhaio neatly propped herself up on her hands and crossed her legs, leaning down slightly towards Sikril. âIâve been told a bit about it.â
âRight.â Sikril let the wildflower go, and, much less gracefully, tucked a hand under her rear to heft herself up. She didnât bother matching Rhaioâs position, rather opting to keep her legs folded underneath her, and craned her neck down to offset their natural height difference. âI was wondering something about that. Itâs a little bit of a⌠difficult question, however.â
âAsk away.â Rhaio folded her hands in her lap, her radiant grin only widening.
âWell,â Sikril said. âI wanted to ask if, somewhere, sometime, you think you might have loved me back.â
âHmm.â Rhaioâs brows furrowed, and her expression turned from joyous to pensive, yet didnât lose that inviting quality that her smile brought everywhere. Eventually, she nodded.Â
âYes. I think so.â
Sikril frowned. âWhy do you say that?â
Rhaio turned back to face Sikril and her smile came back in an instant. Not the blindingly bright one that made itself so comfortable on her face, the one that first came to mind when one pulled a memory of her from their mind. Rather it was muted, somehow, the same way the thrill that struck Sikrilâs heart when she took hold of her hand in her own was muted. But it felt real. And real was hard to come by, and not something Sikril took for granted.Â
âWell, I like the thought, thatâs all. I really want it to be true,â Rhaio said, squeezing Sikrilâs hand. Sikril squeezed back. âAnd in every world out there, that want has to count for something, right?â
Urkis and Morr are from my main project, Junk Heap. I won't spoil too much since I'm planning to post about it on here. Basically all you need to know is they're not human (hence the anatomical weirdness), think of them like aliens, and that Urkis did something really self-sacrificial and stupid that Morr does not forgive her for and probably never will.
Tessie and Allie are from a (partially) retired concept I had, where a rogue nanomachine virus caused the apocalypse. After the world ends, a sapient medical robot tries to control it by using it for good and helping cure people's ailments. This goes extremely poorly; it makes the affected tissues superpowered and enhanced but spreads and slowly induces intense discomfort / pain, madness, and death. The robot wanted to operate in such a way on Allie, but Tessie volunteered in her place. Due to complications she lost her entire body save her head, and uses someone else's decapitated body as a subpar replacement.
Ash and Mia are from my fic on AO3 that I haven't updated in a year (I am deeply sorry for my transgressions and any of you from the Look Outside community may smite me down at a moments notice, no hard feelings will be felt whatsoever). Basically just in the setting of Look Outside, where some cosmic phenomenon causes people who, you guessed it, look outside, to mutate into horrifying monsters. Ash is one such monster, Mia is not. I suggest looking into the game it's pretty neat. I'm gonna tag it here actually because I think I need to be held accountable for my actions yall i promise Terry's Guide is coming back soon ok give me 2 months max
Aika and Mora are from a retired concept where a bunch of people are stuck in a simulation, modelled after an open world survival horror kinda videogame, but with no real survival risk. basically Mora and some other characters had a huge falling out over whether they should escape or not, and then monsters formed from their respective insecurities and stresses started to appear and try to kill people. Aika is newer to the simulation and got dragged off by one of the monsters, only to be later found horribly injured but still alive. Mora, who previously was a very welcoming figure and eventually turned controlling and abusive, and who still blames herself for Aika's disappearance, has a hard time with things.
Emma and Ashton are from another retired concept. This one is weird and meta but essentially, the characters are part of a shitty slasher movie kinda thing, but they're stuck in an overly complicated time loop that tries to force a certain outcome in the story. Emma is supposed to be the final girl (I think? never really decided for sure) and Aika is the girl that's supposed to be killed in the first ten minutes without anyone feeling bad about it, so Emma's been trying for many loops to try to save Aika with only a little bit of success. Their backstory, where they have an argument in the hospital about Aika's suicide attempt and Aika runs into the woods without anyone knowing, is constructed to make Aika look unfairly "bad" and disposable.
Sikril and Rhaio are from my side project, The Light of a Setting Sun. I won't say much because basically any context would be spoilers. Just know that here, Sikril has a one-sided infatuation with Rhaio. It's also worth noting that Rhaio's alternate selves all answered "no" to the question Sikril's alternates posed in all the excerpts, except in this one here.
Apologies if I was long winded and / or if this still does not make sense. My ideas are nothing if not complicated, or even convoluted.
off schedule post because oh shit pride month is almost over. decided i gotta post this before that happens
it's just a silly self-indulgent thing i wrote based off my OCs. it's a weird time for me to post this because I haven't provided context for any of the stories they're from, but oh well.

It was longer than it should have been, and Allie was almost used to it. âDo you think thereâs a universe out there where thereâs no bullshit, and nothing bad happens to us, and we just love each other like sisters?â

âWe should probably⌠talk about this.â Mia sipped her tea, now cold.
WE <3. ALL OKAY. IT WORKS OUT?

Do you think that if there are, then thereâs one where we all get along, and everythingâs okay, and weâre all happy forever?

âEmma, Iââ
âJust hang on a minute.â Emma threw open another drawer in the ancient dresser, seemingly at random, throwing a couple random knickknacks around the dank cabin before slamming it shut with the barest modicum of restraint. âI just need to check⌠shit, wait.â
âEmmaââ
âJust wait, Ashton.
But out of all of them, do you think that at some point, we learned our lesson and⌠and things got better?â

âRhaio?â
âHm?â Still grinning, Rhaio tore her gaze away from the star-speckled sky, and looked over her shoulder at where Sikril lay down on the soft meadow grass right next to her. âWhatâs on your mind, Sikril?â
Sikril fiddled with the stalk of an unknown wildflower, pinching it in her fingertips, but not tearing it from the soil. âUm, you know about the other places, correct? The ones that came before?â
âI do, yes.â Rhaio neatly propped herself up on her hands and crossed her legs, leaning down slightly towards Sikril. âIâve been told a bit about it.â
âRight.â Sikril let the wildflower go, and, much less gracefully, tucked a hand under her rear to heft herself up. sorry for the venting i guess. maybe im getting personal enough that it's leaving the territory of "poetry" and more "shameless self-piteous rumination". however as far as i know this is the oversharing website where people overshare and i dont have a fucking update other than this so im sticking with it.
i mean ive been better. if it wasnt obvious. its fine. i dont socialise on here anyway so im sure maybe 3 people are gonna read this stuff at most.
i could write an entire poem about my fear of meaningful social interaction and the consequences it has on my psyche. ive written multiple. my lazy ass just cant bother to edit them.
hmm, plus it's still probably healthier for me to scream into the void that is an untagged post than dumping this shit in someone's dms like i did 2 years ago
turns out that when you only write poetry because you feel like shit, it gets real personal. who would've thought. real shocker, that
This is the last poem for this week's update. See below the cut as always.
I have another thing I might post later this week if I feel like it. I'm hesitant to do so, since I just wrote it for me, and it requires so much context only I have since it's based off my original concepts that I haven't written yet. But I might post if I'm feeling self-indulgent.
This would also be my first non-poem post (more of a fic prompt or drabble) and it would be a super weird one to start with, but whatever, who cares.
But that's later. Anyway, poem below VVV

Is it bad that Iâm happy to learn that my family was a little fucked up growing up?
Because then, maybe thatâs the reason Iâm a little fucked up myself.
Maybe the reason I broke is just because someone dropped me. Not because I was built too thin and brittle in the first place.
I donât care how fucked up that is. Iâm happy thereâs a reason for it that I can understand. Iâm happy to blame someone else.
