Permafrost mummies! All these creatures represent a real animal found preserved in the permafrost. There's something so fragile and special about the earth and ice reuniting us with an animal our ancestors would have been so familiar with, that shit makes me cry.
Where's the ape
Th… the ape?
Sure. Ötzi, they called him
Oh he’s like a human guy! (Still an ape I guess, but the same ape as you and me) he was from the Copper age roughly 5000 years ago. All the animals depicted here are 30,000-45,000 years old which is crazy to think about, like it’s really easy to lump all of prehistory into this nebulous category cause once you start to think about how far back time stretches it hurts your brain.

A wooly mammoth could spend hours getting ready in the morning, but a single gust of wind always led to a bad hair day.
After grinding a fossil collection for the museum in ACNH I decided to finally visit my local paleontological museum
Another project completed a good old family stroll!!
I actually loved how this one turned out and after some critique in class I love it even more now. Mammoths were tough but I love them so much watching Ice age was a big help too!!
Inktober Day 14: Trunk
This one is dedicated to one of my fave Beanie Babies growing up. I wonder where this guy is traveling to…
Maybe to Mammoth? 🤔

This one, this one I like. Good texture, good details, good paint. Everything about this big guy comes together so well. He looks elderly, wise and worn. This one has a story and I cannot wait to tell it!!!
Boggripe Bulemoth
Bulemoths don't have a particular gripe with bogs when they're not getting stuck in them.

Two Columbian Mammoths, male to the left and female to the right, bring the newly-born calf of the longtime resident females on a walk to the water-hole with the herd matriarch following in the background.
A fossilized tooth of a woolly mammoth or Mammuthus primigenius from the Texas City Dike in the gravel pits at the Cotswold Water Park, Ashton Keynes, Wiltshire, England. This Upper Pleistocene aged specimen was found in 1984 from an old English collection. Supposedly, all (or most) of the gravel pits at this site have since been filled with water. Unfortunately, this specimen suffered damage during transport and had to be glued back together.
