Mina grinned at him. “So…you never told me what you’re doing here.” She hummed.

Adam looked up and sighed “I heard that serena might be around here” he replied

“I could help you look?” Mina offered.

“Really?” He said cautiously. “Why would you help me look for her? I don’t mean to sound rude but, what could you gain from helping me?” He asked softly.

“You must really believe everything you’ve heard about me, huh?” She asked.

“I just find that people don’t really help others for nothing in return” he said softly

"I've been trying to be a better person." Mina said.

Mina was quiet for a second but she smiled at him. “Because all of us are monsters…but you somehow still manage to be good.” 

Adam stared at her in shock “you think im good?” He said softly

“You’re one of the only good creatures left.” She said

Adam huffed softly and rubbed his neck. His cheeks slowly turning a redish colour “I umm… I guess I try to be good” he said quietly. “Eve makes me turn my humanity off a lot though” he frowned

“You don’t have to listen to her.” She said.

“It’s the only way I can try and protect my kids. Which doesn’t seem to be working out to well anyway” he grumbled.

“Maybe you should rethink things.” Mina said. “You’re powerful, Adam.”

“My power comes from Eve. She says she can take it away just as easy as she gave it” he frowned, looking to the floor. “I came to terms with the fact I’m stuck serving her a while ago. My kids are what’s important”

Mina smirked and put her hands on her hips. “Then kill her.”

Adams eyebrows shot up “I can’t kill her! I may not agree with a lot of her methods but I still… I still love her” he admitted

Mina rolled her eyes and shook her head. “You don’t have to be the one who kills her.”

“I can’t risk it going wrong” he said, shaking his head.

Mina pouted at him. "Well that's boring."

Mina stood at the crossroads as the human she’d been talking to ran away out of terror. She rolled her eyes and looked round just as she saw a familiar face walking towards her. She tilted her head and crossed hre arms. “Adam?”

Adam glanced up ahead, seeing the legs first. But he quickly looked up properly and saw Mina at the centre of the cross roads. “What are you doing here?” He said flatly, clearly in now mood to be pool eye and kind like he was the first time they met.

“Running the crossroads.” She said, shrugging. “The better question is wat you’re doing here?”

“What does it matter to you?” He said, folding his arms defensively. “

Mina decided her plan very quickly. She stepped closer to him, playing with his shirt. “I’m very interested in you.” She said softly. 

Adam blinked at her and swallowed “Well… It’s none of your business” he said, but his voice wasn’t as strong as it first was.

Mina stood on her toes and leaned into his ear. “Maybe I could distract you from your problems for a minute.” She said. 

Adam hesitated a minute before stepping back and pushing her arms away “Eve would kill us both” he said quietly

“That’s why you’re not going to tell her.” She rolled her eyes. 

Mina stood at the crossroads as the human she’d been talking to ran away out of terror. She rolled her eyes and looked round just as she saw a familiar face walking towards her. She tilted her head and crossed hre arms. “Adam?”
