I think everything should vaguely exist in the same way it does in canon, with the caveat that there are things I personally struggle to see a natural comparison for.

I've thought about maybe having supernatural elements to explain things (Twilights ability disguise for example, but that'd mean Anya's abilities are less unique so I'm still thinking 🤔).

I'm also wary of overthinking it as it's just for fun.

Also, Franky is now an otter!

I was thinking about how he would naturally appear throughout the story and thought an otter using the river would work. Plus, there is history of Otters in West Germany being aggressively hunted and the population increasing in the East, giving him some personal motivations in my head canon...

His eyes rove across her face, absorbing each and every detail. Her expression must be one of a type of sadness, for when he seems to recognize it he reaches his arms out to her.

"Yor?" he rasps.

His arms stop just before he touches her, and she decides she will not try to put a name to that feeling from earlier, not yet.

Yor.

She closes the distance between them, pulling him in by the collar and throwing her arms around his neck in a tight embrace. She nestles her face into his chest and he follows, wrapping his arms around her waist in an embrace equally as tight, and for the first time in years, they allow themselves to melt into each other.

When I started reading this jewel of a fic by Amanda, I was starved of another western AU. I was craving to do art for it. The first chapter inspired me to draw this doodle:

...and I couldn't just stop reading. It's such a great story packed with action, wholesome, fun and romance (spicy, delicious romance) that makes you immersed instantly. It was an honor for me to be chosen to do that scene depicted at the beginning. I hope I made justice to Amanda's writing.
