“i think it’s a crime,” he stated, a big grin on his face. “that’s wonderful. the matrons seem like nice people.” antonin commented, and almost wanted to thank them for letting her out. it had allowed them to run into each other, and antonin had always enjoyed mallory’s company. “i was just out and about. i was running some errands for my mum.” he lifts up the bag that’s in his hand. “she wanted a new perfume, so i set out to find her one.” he then asked, “do you mind if i join you on your walk?”

“Errands for your mum?” That made Mallory smile; everyone thought that people who supported the Dark Lord were evil and vile people, horrendous and cruel -- but here was someone just proving that that wasn’t always the case. Mal wasn’t one to judge people, with who she knew and who she associated herself with, but there was something just sweeter about Antonin that no-one else recognised. “That’s rather sweet, you know - which did you get her?” She questioned, peering down to see if she could get a glimpse into the bag, before then a smile ran across her lips. “Of course, I was actually just about to ask if you wanted to join me. The park is rather pretty at this time of day.”

Rita hesitated but then turned her head towards the other girl, lowering her voice. “I don’t normally give out my stories before I release them but..” she quickly glanced in the direction of the couple she was talking about, “She is talking about her terrible morning sickness and I know for a fact her oh so charming husband is having an affair.”

Mallory was rather surprised when Rita actually starting telling her what it was that she was going to be working on -- there was no reason to be worried, Mal wasn’t the sort of person to start telling on others, so she wouldn’t be breaking the girl’s trust. “Merlin,” she whistled in shock, leaning back slightly on her chair. “That’s rough for her.”

“Oof, the trail of broken hearts left in your wake must be enormous,” Alecto replied with an equally cheeky grin. “I was thinking coffee or tea, but I guess you know me better than I know myself,” The grin grew even further at the mention of wine, before raising her hands in mock-surrender. “All play, no work — you got it.” 

“Darling,” Mallory replied with a bright grin across her face, “the thought of tea never crossed my mind. The Leaky Cauldron is calling us.” The blonde was rather happy that her friend had agreed not to tell her any of the explicit details of her life; it wasn’t something that she needed to hear or experience. “So, tell me, is your love life any better than mine yet?”

tilden felt annoyance with how some people didn’t like muggle things. of course the wizarding world was great and all, but sometimes people missed out on really cool things — like movies and music. “that’s wonderful, about your mum. i think people really miss out on some of the muggle stuff.” he shrugged his shoulders. “i have six siblings, so it can get out of control sometimes. ‘specially the older ones, they aren’t very nice.” he admitted, but with a smile on his face nonetheless because he loved his family. “no need to feel silly! movies are amazing and a great way to sit back and relax! there’s all kinds out there.” tilden really had never been told he’d be good as a blonde. it didn’t seem like something that would have ever come up in conversation until now. “never, never. hadn’t ever thought much about hair color before!” he told her. “that’s good then! that’s all that matters at the end of the day!”

“I agree! I know I have some friends who hold no care for anything muggle created but they really are missing out.” Mallory felt her smile falter ever so slightly, because it was the majority of people in her life that didn’t like muggles, or muggleborn magical folk -- but that was a topic of conversation for another time, and she quickly brushed it out of her mind. “That’s what I thought. Hey, lets make a date one day for us to go and see a muggle film, okay?”

antonin had always thought mallory was beautiful, and no matter the hair color she always would be to him. “yes, exactly that.” he let her hair drop from his finger and he eased away from her. “only the third?” he asked a little surprised, yet teasing all the same. “say, what are you out and about for?” antonin questioned, curious as to what she was up to and maybe he could somehow include himself in it.

“I know right, only the third.” Mallory sensed the teasing tone in his voice, and she shot him a cheeky smile to let him know that she was on the same wavelength. “Well, I was actually just out for a walk, hopefully around the park if I can get there. I felt so cooped up at St Mungos, so the Matron let me have some time away from the Hospital. What about you?”

Amelia saw how Mallory was looking at her hair color that was seen in the light. The female smiled at Mallory’s compliment before she responded back. “Thank you, that’s very sweet of you to say. Yes, it’s all natural,” Amelia states.

“I’m rather jealous, you know.” Mallory grinned, stepping back from the girl, stopping herself from invading her personal space further. “If I had your hair colour, I probably wouldn’t have dyed mine.”

tony, he rarely ever heard that nickname except for when it seemed he ran into mallory. he liked the way it sounded, though, almost made him feel like a totally different person. “alright, alright.” he said, more softly. he looked her over quite thoroughly this time, and even reached out to take a strand of her hair. he twirled it in his finger, and finally managed to say, “i like it, i do.” his smile, usually a fake plastered thing on his face seemed to turn real whenever he was with her. “but i always liked your natural color. it made your eyes stand out.” antonin honestly told her, her hair still wrapped around his finger. “you seem sunnier with this color, though.”

 Mallory stood there for a moment as Antonin looked her over, almost motionless except for the movement of her chest with every breath she took. She knew a lot of people didn’t like him; a lot of people didn’t like the people she tended to hang out with, due to their affiliation in this war, but Tony was just one of those people that she wasn’t scared of. “Sunnier? I like that, you know. Almost as if I’m brighter.” She shot him a small smile. “I’m the sort of person who needs confirmation of something a thousand times just to calm down my inner anxiety, and you’re the third person I think who’s said it looks nice - so thank you.”

“now that you say that, you’re right.” tilden could recall people from his muggleborn world saying the same exact thing she had said. “i’m not much of a movie goer, but i feel like i know what movie you are talking about.” he wracked his brain trying to figure out what that movie was even called. “my little sisters would force me to watch some of their silly movies with them.” he told her, smiling. “really?!” he exclaimed, surprised. “i think you’re the first to have ever said that!” he chuckled, and then added, “i did forget to tell you though, you look good as a blonde.” 

“I’m pretty sure I remember it being a great film. Mum wasn’t supposed to show me of course, dad doesn’t like muggle things but she’s always had a odd fascination for the muggle movies.” Mallory laughed at his next words. “Really? I wish I had a younger sister to watch silly things with - I’d feel silly watching them now on my own.” She grinned. “No-one has ever told you that before? Well I’m surprised, I think you’d make a great blonde -- and thank you, I feel good as a blonde!”

“You know me, I aim to please,” he replied, sarcasm dripping from his tone.

“So I’ve heard.” Mallory replied coyly, although said nothing more on the matter. “You seem on edge today, Luscious Lucy. Is everything all right?”

“You’ve always been a stunner, but those poor boys won’t stand a chance anymore now,” She added, making up for her tease. Alecto smiled at her friend, grateful for her company. “What do you say we go get a drink somewhere and catch up? I’ve missed you.”

“They never had a chance anyway” Mallory shot a cheeky wink in the direction of her friend, before then nodding in answer to her question. “I’ve missed you too, and could do with a couple of glasses of wine. Catching up as well of course, but please make sure not to tell me any information about what you’ve been doing over these past few weeks. No shop talk.”

“It looks lovely Mallory. What made you decide to suddenly dye it. It looked quite nice before as well.. hmm blondes have more fun huh? I don’t know if I could pull it off.”

Mallory wasn’t sure when the last time she saw Andromeda was, but it had probably been before she had left her family - which was big news in their world. She wouldn’t let that affect how she felt about the girl in front of her however, she still rather liked her and always would. “Thanks, Andie. I decided that the world was falling apart, so I should do something to change it. Start small, I say.” She shot her a small smile. “I think you could, but you’re beautiful just the way you are. I wouldn’t risk it if I had your hair.”

“I think you look fantastic. And I can attest to the fact that blondes have more fun,” he replied with a smirk, shrugging lightly.

Mallory couldn’t stop the laugh from falling out of her lips. “Oh luscious Lucius, you’ve made my day. Thank you for reaffirming my choice. I truly needed it!”
