Maladaptive daydreamer culture is daydreaming about updating your MADD blog instead of actually updating it
be as “cringy” as you want, life is short and people who shame others for harmless interests are scum
This applies to your daydreams as well. I know a lot of us Madders fear our daydreams are cringy (I included) but try not to worry about it to much. It’s your world, your rules. No one’s going to shame you in the Madd community anyway. :)
I realize I like to redo situations in my head if I do something embarrassing so that I can cope with what just happened.
I have very bad social anxiety so I often mess up or embarrass myself when I talk to people. So after my cringe fest, I like to daydream about how the situation would’ve went if I was my sociable parame.
My awkwardness is terrible ://///
Everyday….. ╥﹏╥

i don’t compare myself to others i compare myself to the idealized version of myself that exists only in my head
Do anyone else’s daydreams glorify a lot of crazy shit out of nowhere and you’re just like, “Well this certainly isn’t me but I’m having quite a lot of fun *psycho mode on* ” ?
Yep... But I’m not really concerned about that because I know myself good enough to tell that it’s just a MaDD thing, not anything I would do IRL
You know I promised my parahusband to take better care of myself and what do I do? Yeah I don’t... you would think I could get it done if I actually love him as much as I always claim to do... I’m mad at myself...
mmhhh, another day.... got nothing done. again.
I really need to get this shit under control...
at least to a degree where I’m able to clean and eat properly...
You know, the bare minimum...

I’m not sure if MaDD made IRL problems and conflicts worse or better for me. On one hand, if something bad happens, it feels less bad for me because I know I can ‘‘fix’‘ it later in my daydreams. My brain doesn’t recognise those negative moments as negative because I rewrite them later. Again and again. The same situation all over again... until I can’t even remember what was true or not. I’m not hallucinating, I don’t see these things that I imagine but I purposefully create false memories? It’s good and also bad... I don’t have the negative impact from the bad events but I have negative impact from sometimes not being able to tell what happened. Sometimes it also happens with normal conversations I imagine but that’s less bad because it’s more trivial. Most of the time I prepare myself for IRL conversations with my daydreams and they actually say those things that I imagined... and that makes my memories even foggier I guess. Does anyone else have that?
It’s an escape from what is happening in the here and now. There are many circumstances in daily life that frighten me. Daydreaming helps me not feel the fear…I feel so powerful in my fantasies. Too bad nothing of this power stays with me when I leave my imaginary world.
Subject 3 (via madd-information)
Me: (Does homework for 10 minutes)
Me: I deserve a break
Me: (Daydreams for 3 hours)
I’m sad & i want material items so i can be cured for 5 minutes
Sometimes i forget who I am…like i know who my parame is…but who is ‘me’

my MaDD reached a new level and I don’t mean that in a good way... I had a long and great daydream, I finally felt something again and I slowly fell asleep like that... and then I woke up.... slowly started realising I actually EXIST!!! and that triggered my anxiety big time.
wow....
Hello, I’ve just read your posts about violent/morbid daydreaming, and I just wanted to add that I do this most of the time but my dream-self is usually rescued in time or is comforted after. Just curious if this happens to other people or if it ends badly? I dunno I just feel like I like the idea of someone being there for me so I project it into my daydreaming.
