l0nd0ninnit I think that’s why Kai got under her skin the most, because there was a conflict of emotion. She was attracted to him and it disturbed her. She kept trying to get rid of him, you know out of sight out of mind, because he was beginning to unlock something deep inside of her that had never really been brought to the surface before. (Though that didn’t stop her from eventually having dreams about him) Bonnie likes things being black and white, this person is good, that person is bad, this person is a friend, that person is an enemy etc. Kai was complex and his darkness was alluring to her and therefore it fucked with her psyche. But could she trust him? She kept telling herself not to. Was he completely bad? He did help her bring her magic back. He had a horrible childhood. She “hated” him even though other enemies have treated worse, she has even died before. She “hated” Kai because he was changing something in her. “Listen, Jer, I’m not sure I’m still the same Bonnie you want to be with..I don’t know if I’m scared of myself or if I kinda like the new me” Bonnie feeling conflicted about whether she likes this change in her. Kai brought out a little darkness and badass sexual side in Bonnie. Bonnie burned that guy’s hands at the Rave with her magic, “Can’t help it…I’m hot”  he also brought out Bonnie’s more selfish life preserving side, which she had to learn the hard way after being so hellbent on keeping Kai in the prison world, therefore once again sacrificing herself and her freedom. Kai made it known that when it comes to survival, always put yourself first. Bonnie wanted to take the car and go separate ways. Kai was not going to allow that to happen. She was left in the Prison World and had to fight for survival. Having time to reflect how all her previous sacrifices she made for everyone else had gotten her nowhere but either dead or now trapped in a prison world all alone. So she finally comes back and once again Damon is planning on doing something could potentially put her life in danger. She tells him “For the first time I’m putting myself first” *thank god finally* 

bonkai-diaries: Exactly she’s the kind of person who gives and gives without daring asking things in return. A true heart of gold. But she didn’t had an easy childhood: her mother abandonned her, her father was distant, she probaby growed with a low self estime. Thanks to her friends she created another familly outside of her own dysfontional one. She grew up with them and her Gran with a certain security and stability. And when her Gran died, the one who raised her, was always her for her and teached her magic, she must felt guilty and unstable. With most of her familly gone/away, her friends are the last stable relationship she had, her familly, and never hesitated to protect them, save them, and listen to their needs beyond hers because it’s so important that they stay, alive and well. They mean eveything to her, and pitifully they are not capable to show her the same. What’s surprising is that she could have grown ressentful and bitter of what people did to her but she always choose kindness, forgiveness instead.

Confession: I ship bonenzo. Or at least I thought I did. But then I found myself wanting to skip their scenes and hope for Bonnie and Kai to come face to face again. Their scenes are so sexually charged and more appealing to watch even as protagonist and antagonist than all of the other shipping scenes this show is trying to push. I realize I wanted more.
