So I know everyone thinks that Harry is like James, and in some ways I agree. However I think that history has repeated itself in a different way.

We all know that James mother practically adopted Sirius, who came from an abusive family. The same way that molly Weasley adopted Harry, who essentially came from a glorified bag of dicks.

What I'm trying to say here is, when comparing the gang to the Marauders, Harry doesn't take the place of James.

He is Sirius, not only from background but from the over dramatic ass as well. We only have to look at the iconic "who am I Hedwig, What am I?" Scene to see that.

Ron is James, from the loving family to the fierce loyalty to his friends. Who are his greatest love. For gods sake the boy stood on a broken leg against a well known assumed murderer that he had grown up fearing.

Clearly, to me, hermione is Remus, incredibly smart and deemed a social outcast at the beginning, quiet and understated. Until you fuck with something she loves, this is the girl who kept Rita trapped in a jar. (And she turned herself into a cat once -illegally through polyjuice potion- so she's practically animagus)

"Yeh look a lot like yer dad, but yeh've got yer mums eyes." - the fact that he immediately gave Harry the best piece of comfort he could. To the orphan who can't remember his parents, who now has a little piece of them to hold on to. [chapter 4]

• That time he gave 0 fucks, taking Vernons gun and "bent it into a knot". [chapter 4]

• Remembering and buying harry a birthday cake after 11 years. [chapter 4]

• "Meant ter turn him into a pig, but I suppose he was so much like a pig anyway there wasn't much left ter do" - giving Dudley a piggy tail. [chapter 4]

• "Oh yeah, an' I still haven't got yeh a birthday present." Then proceeding to buy Harry, the kid he barely new, hedwig. [chapter 5]

• Offering protection from the very beginning. "Any problems with the Dursleys, send me a letter with yer owl." [chapter 5]
